I guess she is not fan of LMK
She was on vacation when the decision was made to send officers. She overruled when she got back.

The Refusal: Reports surfaced that security teams requested assistance from outside departments, including the NOPD. However, Superintendent Kirkpatrick firmly shut down the idea during a meeting with her chiefs, stating simply, "No, we’re not going to Oxford."

While the NOPD opted out of participating, other regional agencies—such as the police department in Mobile, Alabama—are still sending mounted units to assist Oxford police with crowd control and safeguarding Kiffin's high-profile return.

Try telling a mounted officer they have no authority and see how that works out.

LMK is a money maker like him or not. Protect at all cost
The governor is talking about sending the team on a C-130 with f-16 escorts.

Lane must have spurned her advances for her not to supplement his security detail with the NOPD.
