They have plenty of pitching depth. It’s a matter of consistency

But they only throw about 6 pitches each once they get in the game. They're probably wearing themselves out warning up in the bull pen.

Exactly. The strategy is mind-numbing. LSU is basically at least in the game until Johnson pulls the starters and begins a game of whack a mole with the pitchers in the pen

He plays matchups more than any other coach. They strike out more batters than any other in the league. They struggle with wild pitches and walks.

Our final series is at home vs Mizzou
A poor Mizzou team swept State, the final weekend of the season, back in 2021.

I know ball fine. I don’t mind if he wants to use his pitchers that way. It hasn’t worked yet.

If the season ended right now, the SEC would have five of the top eight national seeds and seven of the host spots overall. Oddly, the team currently leading the SEC wouldn’t be one of them. SEC baseball is ratfricking insane.
Wait what?

That is just plain wrong

UGA, Texas, and A&M are all national seeds right now.
Auburn, Florida, and maybe Bama are all hosts.
Everyone else except Mizzou and Carolina with LSU and Oklahoma on the bubble are getting in the field

This has been a very very peculiar SEC baseball season.

Only team that seems to actually pitch well consistently is Florida and their bats are schizophrenic. Georgia is their polar opposite which works to our advantage because the rest of the league can’t pitch consistently

A&M isn’t a National Seed. Still work to do there.

UGA currently sits at 19th in RPI lol. Texas, Ole Miss, Auburn, Bama and Florida are all top 8. A&M and OU are top 16.

If the season ended today, I think we would be. But it’s precarious.
Remember when you thought we had to win out our last four games to make the NCAA tourney, then we went 2-2, and made it in pretty easily?

I do. I think the series whipping of Texas gives us some ammo but not enough. Even D1 baseball doesn’t have us as a NS

A&M up early 4-0. Hopefully this game is as uneventful as the other two. Time for the game to slow down as we have already chased the starter in the third.

While unlikely, I think Bama leading for the majority of the series while getting swept is still in play today with the 1-0 lead early.
