That has to be the worst fitting jacket and shirt I’ve seen in a while. Looks sloppy.

He wanted the LSU job bad. It was kind of sad.

'm really saying program stability, building from the inside up cliche shite. The guy may never win a title but he is very consistent in his method, which worked at a smaller school. I think his biggest obstacles were going to be recruiting which he's doing a good job at and earning the fan bases trust. They might have a rough year or 2 and how the university handles that will be what his career there lives or dies by.

He has significantly better resources then most of the sun belt teams, had a better recruiting ground, and came into a program that had 3 SBC titles under the last guy and still only managed 1.5 ( covid cancelled the title game) conference championships

He also seemed to win every game by just enough. We'll see how it translates.

Floridas best coach ever didn't give a shite about recruiting and pounded dudes with a "gimmick offense"

Their second best also relied on a "gimmick" but obviously recruited at higher level

Florida already had a Napier in the shark fricker

It didn't go very well

He may have wanted the LSU job. Brian Kelly’s agent also reached out to University of Florida and got shut down because we had our guy. Maybe both of them can work out at their ‘second choice’

He took a program that had three straight losing seasons and won the division every year he was there. Also, he curb stomped a number of teams, including one that went on to win the Fiesta bowl the same year. You don't know what the hell you're talking about, obviously.

I think Napier is a good get, he was one of the three guys I wanted at LSU.

+1

Either him or this guy...

Still pleased that we landed Kelly.

I think both LSU and Florida ended up with solid coaching hires. I don't understand why both fan bases are so intent on crapping on the other schools hire. Both coaches have proven they can coach and recruit.

I also think ND did a good job of replacing BK

Would of been a unique opportunity going from UL to LSU. Could of joined the big boys and stayed put. Most coaches would like that i think.

I like Billy but a g5 coach is a coin flip hire at best. There’s no serious argument to be made that LSU should have hired him over Brian Kelly. I mean come on.

I didn't make any such argument.

Sunbelt Billy is a dime store Kiffin. Mark my words. He will be out in year three. Miami is the new rising power in the state.

It’s possible, he also may be very good. Regardless there’s no way LSU could have hired Billy when someone with the resume of Brian Kelly was ready to take the job.

I can’t decide if ‘Dime store Kiffin’ or Miami being the rising power of Florida is more ridiculous. Fun post

Yeah, I wanted Fickell, Aranda, or Napier, in that order.

I liked that Fickell had a bit more head coaching experience than Aranda but really liked both.

Kelly was never really on my radar, I didn't see any reason that he'd ever leave Notre Dame.

I don't think anyone is surprised to see Mario Cristobal recruiting at a high level. He's in the running for best recruiter in college football. He recruited really well at Oregon, but couldn't translate that into high level success.

Could he do that at Miami? Sure. Do we have any reason to believe he will? No.

I'll give props to Billy. After that one QB dunked on you guys on his way to Miami ya'll have been on fire on the recruiting trail.

Now the question is does Billy have the staff in place to develop this influx of talent.

Napier can run a football game, and a program, and recruit. Going to get better as he establishes relations in -state.

Christopal.. I have doubts. Good recruiter for sure, but Saban pretty much finally pushed him out because he just wasn’t a very good coach. Nothing that happened in Oregon changed that talking point. I think we will see a repeat in Miami.

My bet would be on Napier.
