I'm glad he's starting to settle in. CFB is better when UF is good. Impressive recruits so far

Ditto, LSU being elite and UF being elite makes for primetime TV.

92% blue chip rate

I don't think this is as impressive as you make it out to be.

The problem with the "blue chip" ratio is that it treats the 375th best recruit in a class the same as the 135th. They are both 4 stars. It just so happens that the 375th best recruit is one or two spots better than a 3 star and the 135th best recruit is so much closer to a 5 star.

It makes more sense to count the number of players in a class over .9400 in the composite (high 4 stars) to gauge the quality of the recruiting.

How many recruits are over .9400 for Florida in the class of 2023?

How many times has Missouri been to the playoffs? You’re really talking shite to an LSU fan with your loser trash program? Every single one of your fans would sacrifice your first born for what Brian Kelly accomplished at Notre Dame

I remember fans like you getting their jollies calling Coach Saban. “little nickie,” 10-15 years ago. How’d that dismissive insult work out for you?

Um what? You mean the guy who won a national championship at LSU? Yea every LSU fan was so dismissive of his coaching acumen. You’re quite the typical Alabama redneck 87 IQ white trash retard, please stop using words like “inane” in an attempt to sound like you’re not a complete idiot.

ETA: and just to clear this up for you, Nick Saban didn’t bring 75% of his staff from Michigan State when he was hired at LSU. I get that every dumbass Alabama fan has a complete hard-on for every ex-Alabama-assistant-coach-turned-head-coach, but Napier isn’t that guy pal

I think there is a general misconception about recruiting “stars.” The higher the rating the more prepared the recruit is to help immediately. It doesn’t necessarily forecast physical-mental development. Some 5-stars are at peak. Some 3-stars have barely started to shave so have big upside.

I think this is where Saban had a jump on others. He placed emphasis on seeing recruit in camp and relied on that evaluation and he seems to have an algorithm to project development. Other sports people trust his judgement so much that an offer from him often produces a bounce in rating.,

No doubt a “5-star” generally has better immediate skills and is regarded to have a bigger upside eventually. But I wouldn’t sleep in a team such as Miss State with a roster full of fourth/fifth year 3-stars.

You have zero evidence to make a statement like that. Just talking out of your arse.

I agree in generalization.

Years ago, 247 said that they were trying to predict first rounders. They limited 5 stars to the number of NFL teams. They weighted 5 stars for skill positions that appear weighted in the draft (qbs, WRs, pass rushers).

The recruiting ranking was not about immediate availability but about forecasting body types for the nfl (as 17 and 18 year olds). Rivals, scout, ESPN etc may have a different MO. But that was what 247 said when they began their composite.

He brought 4 coaches. I think the D coordinator he brought Toney is gonna be really good.

The 2 OL coaches he brought put 3 guys in the league at UL that are starters with a 4th on the way in Torrence who transferred to Fla.

Watched ULL for years under Napier. Lots of talent but they were nearly always under performers against teams they should route. Made a killing betting against them when they were double digit favorites. Always wondered if their was some point shaving going on.
