Seems like Tennessee has redefined NR (not relevant)

None. Up close Auburn is a giant mess, but if you take a step back they are very consistent.

Has there ever been a program with three Top 2 finishes (2004, 2010, 2013) along with 2 losing seasons (2008, 2012) of which all the good years and the bad years were seperated by the other?... I doubt it:

2004- #2 finish
2008- losing season
2010- National Title
2012- losing season
2013- #2 finish; played for National Title

I doubt that's ever happened in just a 15 year period to anyone else.

Yet its not too far off from where Auburn sat in the '80s and '90s:

1987-1989: 3 straight SEC Titles

1991-1992: 2 years of .500 or worse

1993: Undefeated season

1998: Losing season

2000: SEC West Champs

Yet we've had Top 5 finishes in 2012 and 2017... the two book-end years. With a Top 10 finish right in the middle in 2014.

It's a pretty fair statement to say UGA was one play away from winning a National Title both in 2012 and in 2017. Where our program sits today is actually not all that far off from where we sat on several occasions with Richt (#3 in 2002; #2 in 2007; #5 in 2012)..... only now it *feels* like we should be more consistent going forward.

And NR 3 times. No doubt y'all are on the upswing but things can change quickly. All I was saying.

It's just nuts. And zooming in a little further on the dates I extracted, the below is just insane. Really, it's the only proof we need to conclude Auburn sold its soul at the crossroads.

2008: NR
2009: NR
2010: #1
2011: NR
2012: NR

Your math is way off if you think uga has been worse than the other teams from 12-17.

LSU is only "struggling" on the rant.

And both of them finished in the Top 10 this year... and both should start at or near the Top 10 next year. That's their current state.

It's not the current state of LSU football.

Auburn's current state is they finished with the same record as LSU and lost to LSU head to head

But that's not where they are today.

then why did you do time blocks for each team in the Big 6?

LSU finishing ranked #18 is not defined as struggling, sorry.

UGA has been quite consistent every since Mark Richt's 2nd season. There have been some ups/downs... specifically a bit down towards the final years of Richt, but the program really hasn't taken any drastic turns.

So LSU has finished in the teens every year but 1 the last 5 years, UGA is unranked 3 of the past 5, but UGA is the program who isn't making drastic turns.

LSU has actually been a model of consistency for the most part. 18 straight seasons with 8 wins, Finished the season ranked in 14 of the last 18 seasons.

You want to look at where teams are today, yet 4 of the 6 "Big 6" have experienced major coaching turnover in the last two yrs. There's a reason some appear to be struggling.

The rationale used to determine which teams are "struggling" and which one's aren't based on "where they are today" is comical.

was their last great squad. should have been a top 10 team

2015 team was our best team since 01 imo. All 4 losses were due to unbelievably bad coaching. This team should have beaten Oklahoma (a CFP team) badly and also blew late 4th qtr leads against Bama and UF (the SECCG participants) on the road.

Not sure how 9 wins is the same as 10 wins, but okay.

Auburn played 5 games against the Final Top 6.... LSU played 1 game against the Final Top 6.

Yet Auburn still finished with a better record and ahead of LSU in the SEC West standings.

To try to equate the two teams' resumes last year is silly.

Relative to where you've been, it is. Hence the mood of most LSU fans on the rant right now.

LSU Final Rankings from 2001-2012:

2001: #7 (SEC Champs)
2002: NR
2003: #1 (National Champs)
2004: #16
2005: #6
2006: #3
2007: #1 (National Champs)
2008: NR
2009: #17
2010: #8
2011: #2 (SEC Champs)

So LSU finished in the Top 10 in seven out of 11 seasons... Top 2 in three of those seasons.

Since then, LSU has finished #14, #14, NR, #16, #13, & #18.... next season will be lucky to finish in the Top 25.

If you can't see a distinct drop-off, I can't help you.

Georgia frequently has a down year in which we finish low or outside the Top 25:

#22 in 2001... #23 in 2006... NR in 2009... NR in 2010... NR in 2013... NR in 2014... NR in 2016.

So 7 times in the last 17 seasons we've finished #22 or lower or even outside the Top 25. Yet all up in between those down years we finished #3 in 2002... #2 in 2007... #5 in 2012.... #2 in 2017. And those are just the Top 5 finishes.... we also had another six seasons of finishing somewhere between #6 and #20.

So Georgia has been fairly consistent since Richt came to Georgia. Mostly good years with a handful of VERY GOOD years mixed in with a handful of down years.

LSU on the other hand is not seeing ups and downs. It went from up (2001-2012) to not nearly as good (2012-2017).

LSU's current state is far different than where your program was at under Saban and Miles. Far different.

It’s obvious from your list that LSU has the best chance.
