Compared to Texas schools they are dirt poor.

Bankrolls beat bags. Or at least they do for the players with intelligence and patience. aggy does well in recruiting because they do both. Maybe the other SEC schools can follow that formula?

With nil and portal, even a Vanderbilt or Missouri can become relevant for a period.
Missouri won the SEC East two years in a row. Way, way before NIL or the portal. Vanderbilt went 9-4 in back to back seasons, 2012-2013. Way, way before NIL or the portal.
Since NIL and the portal started, neither has had a winning season. Just saying.
Both NIL and the portal have changed the game. But some of y’all act like it is a completely different game. It isn’t. Programs ebb and flow. Some of you have greatly over reacted to TCU making the playoffs last year. And we see how that turned out. And some of y’all are over reacting to five games this year. There is a lot of football to be played.

Arkansas wasn’t cheating, or at least if we were we suck at it. Cheating is the only reason the top programs are the top programs.
There is no cheating anymore. You can pay anyone anything you want. Walmart is just down the road and you have Jerry Jones too. Yet you suck worse now, much worse, than you did 1985-1990 and the early 2000’s. Maybe it is about coaching.
Also, you were a member of the Southwest Conference. Nobody there was NOT paying players. That is the only conference ever shut down for cheating. But sure, you are right.

The SEC blue bloods are not poor, so what does this tell us?
I think it tells you 4 and 5 star players aren't willing to ride the bench anymore and be depth while they wait their turn for a few small bags of money and hundred dollar handshakes when they can go play somewhere else and start and make good legal money..

There are rich blue bloods and poor ones. The rich ones will do okay. The poor ones will lose.

The SEC is in shambles and has only won 11/15 previous national championships

It means that NIL combined with the transfer portal means that every second team guy at a blue blood can go be a starter at a mid-tier conference team. Parity.

College football is going down.
Imagine being a coach begging and paying big money to get 3 star hand-me-downs for depth every year, or worrying about getting playing time for guys not good enough to play for fear of transfers. Your best prospects are getting offered bigger money every year to transfer. Coaches heavy on discipline are having to soften their process because now their players can leave at the first sign of offense.
Conferences are getting watered down and stretched with needless expansion. New money probably wants a similar program access as traditional boosters. It's really turning into a bad product and I expect the net trajectory of most teams will be down from where it has been.

I really thought it would be Auburns time to shine.
Im disappointed so far. We have been training for this moment for 50 years.

The SEC messed up letting Texas and OU join. They are about to put a big insurmountable wall around the recruiting in the state of Texas. At least before, the SEC schools could negative recruit against them with them being in the weak Big 12. That's what A&M has been benefiting from and why they are so pissed that Texas and OU are back... You got nothing now to use against them to negative recruit..Better start winning on the field. Or, in A&Ms case hit the door, if you don't like it.

It’s not NIL. It transfer portal and more specifically players aren’t required to sit a year when transferring

let those losses mount after you navigate a conference season where you have one decent opponent, big talker.

I was more referring to pre-NIL. Programs like Alabama were buying players decades before NIL. Also, Arkansas was the only non-Texas school in the SWC. It was the Texas schools that were dirty.
