This is the SEC not the big12. We don't have participation trophies in this conference.

So no hardware for USCe yet again.

What an odd stat.

UGA is 43rd in "stop rate", yet 15th in total (yardage) defense and 17th in scoring defense.

Why is it odd? The stats you listed off can be drastically altered by burning clock with a ball control offense to shorten the game. They are more of a team stat than a defense stat.

Trying to manufacture top 25 wins is pure Whorn!

You have “0” top 25 wins. You lost to the only top 25 team you faced.

Trying to use “at the time” rankings is legacy whorn behavior. Why not use pre season ranks? Week 1 ranks?

Rankings mean nothing until the season is past 3/4ths done. Yet here you are using them in your failed effort to pimp the whorns.

On one hand you used them to justify OU being a good team and in same breath say we’re not good.

You flopped vs the only ranked team you faced. And badly. And then embarrased yourselves on national TV by throwing a hissy fit and littered the field. Your fanbase is weak and after having 2 years of mediocre success are here thumping your chests like King Kong.

Get back to me when you beat a ranked team.

Looks to me like OU is the reason some of these defenses look good.

It's odd in that you said it's about preventing a team from scoring and the other stats suggest UGA is good at that and is good at stopping teams from moving the ball but bad at that stat.

It's also odd UGA went from 43rd at the stop rate to 8th in the opponent adjusted stop rate.

UGA is also top 20 in yards per play allowed. Top 15 in 3rd down percentage defense. That would suggest UGA is pretty good at getting off the field defensively. UGA hasn't been great at red zone defense (14 TD and 10 FG in 29 red zone trips), but that 29 trips is the 15th fewest allowed in college football. UGA is 10th in TD's allowed this season (18... 14 from inside the redzone and 4 from outside)

We aren't very good at 4th down defense though, so maybe that factors in?

As for the ball control part of it, I might accept that in prior years, but this season UGA has frankly not been great running the ball. We haven't been able to run off clock to end games like we have in prior seasons. I don't have a great way to show that in stats... but UGA is only 49th in the nation in time of possession (exactly 30 minutes per game).

Can't understand how they're getting to that bad a measure for UGA considering everything else in UGA's statistics.

Congrats, Vandy beat them too. I sure am happy that y'all can hang your 6-6 Frisco Bowl season on "We beat bama in their first year without Saban".
