What a fricking shame. I used to like keeping up with that site.

quote:

After 12 years, Stiff Arm Trophy is over.

Over the last 12 years, I've correctly projected the winner of the Heisman Trophy here at Stiff Arm Trophy every single time. Through the landslides and the close calls, with the help of thousands of fans and several hundred brave Heisman voters, we got it right again and again.

But after a dozen years, it's time to hang it up. Here's why:

Last year, the Heisman Trust started putting the screws to the voters. They threatened them with the loss of their ballots if they disclosed who they voted for prior to the ceremony. As a result, many voters declined to share their ballots with our readers.

He was making money and ESPN wanted to make that money instead.

I was good in its time, but this year, at least, it's not needed.

What fricking difference does it make if you find out the winner tomorrow or watching the ceremony.

I haven't cared about the Heisman in years. I'm guessing I'm not alone.

You're not. If it actually went to positions other than QB, and the very occasional RB, maybe I would.

Doesn't surprise me. They got to the Heisman Pundit site as well. The Trust apparently hired him to provide analysis on their site...

it lost most of its credibility for me back when espn ran an all out campaign to get charles woodson picked over peyton manning. the icing on the cake was scam newton. character no longer involved in picking the winner.

Its a plague that has ruined the trophy.

It might as well just be given to the best QB in the nation.

It was stolen from Darren McFadden 2 straight years, when McFadden was clearly the best player in the nation.

I could give two fricks, have not watched in years.

Tim Tebow deserved the Heisman in 2007, bro.

That site is like a BoxOfficeMojo,etc..just a tool to handicap for prop betting purposes..no big loss imho.

Ever since Peyton was hosed, it's been downhill for that award anyway. And now with sissy rules all geared to aid Offenses in creating parity, it has largely become an QB only award.

Well I think the heisman award lost its luster more than several years ago for me. I honestly could care less who wins it. Its all political anyways. Stats don't do it necessarily (but for some reason still heavily considered), and you have to be on a winning team (wouldn't that take away from individual meaning to your team maybe just as much as pronounce your meaning?)

Not at all. Dumb fricking award. Might as well not exist, and college football wouldn't suffer at all IMO.
