I remember this and I thought maybe, but I thought it would be a sub par season if it happened, not a national championship.

4127 - 304 = 3823 in 14 games.
So 273 a game in 14 games… after being left in and passing on the last or next to last series in all but 3-4 games. UGA padded his stats. Take away his post season stats and it’s 672- 3823 for 262 a game with him passing in the last or next to last UGA O series in all but 3-4 games. Not as impressive as you want to pretend it is. And further solidifies that he was a very meh QB and UGA won based on a weak schedule and defensive depth.
Compare his numbers to Hookers for instance. Hooker played in 10.5 games throwing for 3135 yards on a 70% completion rate playing a tougher schedule without playing Vandy and not staying in passing in the last or next to last series in blowouts. In fact if you allow Hookers replacements yardage to Hooker you get more yards than Bennett in 2 fewer games. Dude is a walkon with no NFL future for valid reasons.

We had many people saying the same thing about Mac Jones. People just assume the 5 star will break through. It happens.
