There’s a reason why Oxford/ Ole Miss is a destination visit for college football fans. And Ole Miss attracts students from all over the country.

And there’s a reason why Starkville is consistently ranked the worst college town in the SEC and is only hyped by State fans who grew up in other shite holes in Mississippi and have never left the state.

Uh that's only because you've had a good football run.

lol. Just take the L dude. You said Nobody. Nobody is.. well.. nobody. You tried to play the “everyone hates Starkville” card, was absolutely wrong, and everyone sees you are trying to save face.

If Selmon pulls of hiring O’Connor that’s gonna gain some huge brownie points for him with fans who thought he didn’t care much for baseball.

I mean all the Southern Living sports enthusiasts in this thread would agree that Malibu & that beach are far superior to any SEC location, right? What else could a Coach ask for?

Didn’t want to go to college in my hometown and Mississippi State was better suited for my major

Lotta smoke this evening. If it does turn out to be BOC, I don’t see how it’s kept secret for much longer. UVA will want to get their own coaching search started ASAP

Spend much time in Tuscaloosa prior to Saban? I did. It’s night and day. A good football run can do wonders for a city.

I never said anything about Starkville, and I made a poor choice in syntax by saying nobody instead of no head coach. Congrats on your technical W, you gotta get them where you can I guess.

Lot's of Coaches getting raises whether deserved or not.

Should know soon whether A&M has a vacancy.

I took Alberts statement to mean, "I'll fire him as soon as we can arrange a face to face meeting, but I'm stuck in Destin for a few days." From an efficiency standpoint, you'd probably want to do like the horns did last year and not fire him until you are only a few days away from announcing his replacement, but I don't know that we will let him twist in the wind that long if our target were to win a regional.

The point, which always has to be explained to you cowfricking morons, is that a good football program benefits the city the school is in. You don’t have to win a half dozen national championships to put together a nice run.

Starkville is what it is, but State being dogshit at football objectively hurts Starkville. State being competitive at football objectively helps Starkville. Don’t be obtuse.

BOC taking the job in Starkville would be a bit unprecedented, but I could see it after his comments a few days ago. He pretty much implied that UVA missed out on a regional because of the poor quality of play in the ACC, but that cuts both ways, if we’re being honest, so who knows.

When the champion of your conference doesn’t even host a regional, it definitely raises some eyebrows

I'm doubtful that UVA will fund 34 baseball full rides. Clemson supposedly will, so some ACC schools will do it. If UVA doesn't, that really makes the job untenable for a coach who has aspirations of winning it all (again).
