Actual question. I’m not sure I’ve seen this happen before without some kind of explanation other than “whoops”.
That exact thing happened in a&m vs Missouri.

My take on what happened….
For perspective I hate Texass , i also hate Georgia bugs I hate Texass a lot more.
The ref saw texass intercept and thought “I have to stop this” maybe he was on the Georgia payroll, maybe he was Kirbys Lesbian barber who knows….But we all know the Offensive player committed the PI foul but in any case PI is never called in that situation…
Then later the ref finally saw the play on the big screen and realized “ this is an obvious bad call and an egregiously Bad call and once the SEC office sees this i am either suspended or fired”
So he won’t to the other refs and said help me out here or i will get fired , reverse the bad call.
That is what happened IMO….

Time of game? I want to see how similar it was

That's correct. It would have been a dead ball penalty. Fortunately, you guys still won.

It wasn’t the same. They hadn’t marked off the penalty. It was 1st quarter, too.

If white hat wasnt from rockwall and his kid attending TU it never would have been reversed the way it was

They’re going to have to exclude him from Texas games going forward.

bullshite Georgia was on the field moments away from running a play
THis.
If the official story was true, they would have huddled BEFORE getting ready to allow UGA to run the next play. They didn't do that. The only reason UGA didn't run the next play was the fans throwing trash on the field.
THEN the officials huddled and reversed the call. This isn't "picking up the flag". That happens BEFORE the foul is announced. You know... when they come out and say "there was no foul on the play" despite throwing the flag.
THis is pure CYA by the SEC officials office.

What new information did the official learn to reverse himself? If another official ran up and said the ball was tipped at the line, no problem. That’s not what happened.

They are part of the problem

UTx in the conference will soon make people beg for the days when REC was accused of influence.

Not gonna lie..
The PI was a fricking horrible flag.. complete and utter bullshite.. the offense player came into the defensive player.. almost like he was blocking him or trying to push off him to come back to be ball. Horrible flag.
But then I was kinda happy for a moment.. We didn’t really have a chance to win the game last night.. So I felt that we could say blah blah blah if that call would have been different, who knows what happens..
And then the water bottle incident happens.. and I’ve never seen that happen at Texas in any sport.. it was a bad look. I get that the fans (mostly students) were pissed, but that’s unacceptable behavior. That was bad.
And then the call is changed? I’m like wtf? I’ve never seen that happen before (outside of a review of course). I didn’t understand. This was bad.
For anyone saying that the refs are in Texas pocket, you are fricking stupid. Both sides were holding all night long.. all night long.. both sides.. if the refs were in our pocket, why are they NEVER calling Georgia for an obvious hold? They were literally available to call all night long.. not one called.
The kickoff return. It was 100% holding, but the hold was pretty far from the ball.. so it didn’t directly impact the play imo.. either way, they called it, and Texas was behind by a bit at that point..
So if the refs are in our pocket, why aren’t they calling Georgia for holds? Watch the game tape on the huge 3rd and 10 conversion when the score was 23-15 and tell me there was no hold.
Bottom line, as I said earlier, we weren’t going to win the game last night.
Ewers, in his current form, can’t get it done. Maybe it is rust.. maybe he is still injured.. maybe he is afraid to take a hit.. regardless of reason, Georgia’s DL and LB’s stole our lunch money all night long, but Quinn didn’t help with his happy feet.. eyes down instead of downfield.. and missing open receivers all night long.
Texas has a good OL. We have played good defenses before last night.. Georgia’s DL was just better.. a lot better. Credit to Kirby and staff. Great defensive gameplan.
I thought our defense played good enough to win the game.. just too many short fields.. 20 points scored on 64 yards of offense. Georgia had 10 points where they had to go more than 50 yards.
All that being said, Texas can lose every game left or win every game left. Idk if that is with QE or with Arch.. that is Sark’s call, but QE has to get better. He lost a lot of money tonight. I have said before that I don’t buy the NFL hype with him.. and last night proved that to be true.
Good game dawgs!
I apologize for our fan base throwing the water bottles. Y’all kicked our arse and deserved the W. I hope we get another chance to settle the score.. y’all will be there.. tbd if get up off the mat.

What the statement doesn't address is the fact that the ball was spotted and Georgia was about to run a play and the delay of game caused by Texas fans created an opportunity to review a play that was not reviewable.

Not going to name the ref in charge of this fiasco but he is very well known by Aggies to be a POS whose son attended tu.
He had business considerations for his supply company to protect.
Sankey should have already cleaned this up.

It has happened before. Usually a flag is picked up immediately and the head official announces, "There is no foul for.....". Typically it something like illegal ball touch, or illegal player down field.
I do think the call of no pass interference was the correct call, however, the optics are awful when water battles are thrown on the field and the officials huddle up and reverse the call. It appears as if the call was reversed based on fan reaction, which will, in my opinion, cause more problems down the road with fans showing out.

It doesn’t appear, it’s what happened. It’s been said multiple times already. The ball was moved, chains set and UGA ready to snap the ball.

No they can not once the penalty has been announced. They could before the official announced it but once he officially called it he can not overturn a non reviewable penalty.
