SEC and officials aside, wtf was with the ESPN crew?
Herby and Fowler basically applauded the reversal. The fricking rules analyst acted like there was nothing controversial about reversing a call after the ball was set. And it’s not like they aren’t free to criticize officials, they do it several times a game when questioning calls.
You have a nearly unprecedented officiating disaster occurring on national TV and ESPN pissed down their legs.
Lost some respect for that crew last night. Of all people, Herby is going to suddenly start rooting for bullshite targeting penalties? Really? Poorly called game.

They better get this shite under control. In Aggies vs Mizzou they flagged Aggies on a PI 1st series of the game on 4th down which set Mizzou up to score. They then proceeded to pick up the flag. It was a clear PI. Did it cost Mizzou the game? No they got skull fricked but it was a huge momentum shift that started the rout.

The problem is they changed the call after the Texas fans bombarded the field with debris, this is a dangerous precedent in the SEC. Now it is acceptable for fans to be involved in an official decision and will be taken advantage of in every SEC stadium.

This shite is NOTHING new to Aggies. We dealt with this for LITERALLY at least 60 years.
It's why were thrilled to move to the SEC, even thiugh it was a tougher league.

“ So, the ref “erred”. Can he just pick up the flag and say “never mind, no penalty” and move on with the game?
Actual question. I’m not sure I’ve seen this happen before without some kind of explanation other than “whoops”.”
I have seen referees pick up flags and say “no penalty” lots of times,
It just took longer than normal. But there was no PI foul on texass it was a bad call.. It was good they finally got it right
Kirby should be thankful they corrected a bad call. What comes around goes around….

While weak, the Texas db contact could easily have been deemed illegal contact downfield as he instigated it.
Calling the penalty, moving chains, then reviewing it isn’t a thing.
I want to know if they had any outside communication in headsets during that period.

That is a bullshite timeline, the chains had been reset and the UGA o was ready for play and 5 minutes later they changed a call that had already been made official.
Stop gaslighted the fans SEC and admit a mistake and move on.

The next time the SEC office admits they fricked something up, it will be the very first time.
What a clown show. Between that and the absurd targeting calls it is pretty clear that SOMEONE was trying to protect Texas as much as they possibly could.

So, they're mad about some fans throwing bottles but NOT reversing the call AFTER enforcing the call because of caving in to the the fan hissy fit like cowards, OR about making a bad call to begin with?

So if throwing debris on the field is against SEC policy, why not flag the crowd? It would be offsetting penalties and Georgia gets the down over.
The penalty against Texas for the fans actions would be after the play. Play counts then penalty enforced so it would've been Texas ball at the 24 instead of the 9.
But that's not the real issue. The issue is changing a non reviewable call after the call was made and the two teams were lined up ready for play but couldn't because of the shite on the field from the fans. Had they not done that call would've stood like it should have and play would've went on like it should have.
It wasn't the right call on the field we can all pretty much agree. But they made it 100x's worse by incorrectly changing it after the fans threw shite on the field.
Next week LSU plays at A&M. There's no doubt in my mind if a bad call in a critical moment goes against A&M they will throw shite on the field. It was a bad precedent to set.

PI isn't reviewable and they already announced it.

We sent yall a loss. Much better than a bill

It’s okay for officials to conference and discuss a call. That has never been done after the penalty was assessed and the ball marked for play. That’s the precedent

quote:Yes, now in hindsight. But if those bitches had come back and won the game, we’d all be singing a different tune. Thankfully, they got what they deserved but they kept trying, with all the bullshite targeting calls too.
I’m glad they reversed it. No excuses from Texas now

The lack self awareness… questionable calls happen all the time each weekend. Like the “reviewed” no TD and first down in this very game. And I can only remember one incident in recent memory of fans throwing trash on the field. So no, not “any sec fan base would react that way”
Your trash fan base acts like it’s the worst call in the history of modern football and the behavior is justified when literally everyone else is telling you nah bra

They do it all the time. The PI call was dog shite. What makes the reversal look so bad is that it only occurred after Texas fans threw stuff on the field.

SEC tries to rig another game. SEC gaslights fans.
So, same old same old?

I do believe there have been very rare instances where they announce it, discuss immediately after the announcement, and rescind the penalty.
