Five of those six bowl games occured in the decade prior to Fitzgerald becoming head coach, and three of those seasons also included a Big Ten championship. Pat had two bad years prior to Mike Hankwitz's arrival in Evanston, decent success while Hankwitz was Defensive Coordinator and two incredibly abysmal seasons after his departure culminating in this debacle.
Fitzgerald without Hankwitz is an incredibly impressive 14-34.

How does he have a ton of baggage? He is well respected by his peers and have never heard anything negative about his character until this hazing incident.

I was reading about these hazing incidents yesterday and I am thinking - evidently no one there was thinking. How does a coach allow this kind of crap to go on? You can't defend it. Humiliating a person never served a positive purpose.
I would have never thought that Fitzgerald could have been a party to this kind of crap. The President acted very quickly when the facts came out. Best way to handle it. Don't dilly dally, when the facts are known - act on them.
A black eye to Northwestern and the big ten. I say big ten only because every time something negative happens in the SEC the big tenners paint the entire SEC with the incident. They don't differentiate between the guilty and the not guilty.

State has beaten every SEC West team other than Bama multiple times since 2017, including 3+ wins against A&M, Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. I’m not sure why we are acting like it’s still the Sylvester Croom era.

Why? They already have a coach. Also, said coach is probably better and has no baggage. Maybe Ole Miss should call him and tell him he's on the short list for their upcoming coaching search after Kiffin leaves this year.
