Looks like Blue Bell Park with a better outfield and a worse name.

A lot of money spent on a renovated stadium but zero national championships

Once complete, there won't be anything in college or AAA that's quite like the new DNF.

You better hope he brings Saarloos.

Saarloos will not be coming to MSU. He’ll either be the head coach at TCU or Rice. Schloss without Saarloos will be like Franchione without Gary Patterson,

Saarloos is the best pitching coach in the nation, so it’s going to have an impact. Not that MSU can’t find someone good. But as good will be difficult, if not impossible.

based on projections I'd easily agree.

Capacity is half the Starkville population.. devotion or nothing else to do?

So Schloss all of the sudden gets zero credit now that he’s leaving. Ok.

Fran had a 10 win season at Alabama and a damn good defense with Carl Torbush in 2002. Leaving Alabama was his problem. He would have done well over the long haul. But of course it turned out better for Alabama that he left.

He’s a fantastic manager and tactician. Quality guy, high character, and I wish him the best. But prior to Saarloos’ arrival, TCU was ranked in the 40’s. After? Top 15.

Just something to think about.

The new DNF is nice, but I think State fans need to dial it back a bit. The angles on the field really suck and should have been left out and kept like the original, traditional design.

And for the love of God, get rid of that shitty fake turf at home plate!

did you use the oldest and shittiest picture of Baum you could find let me help you out.

Notice how they have suites all the way down the lines and chairbacks throughout the entire stadium

I agree with the turf, but I understand the reasons for it. The sight lines are better at the new Dude.

There are some similarities.

Baum is a beautiful park and I think it gets overlooked at times.

The lack of seating behind home and in the infield bothers me a little.

Why put in 20 rows of seats way down the line when there are only 20 rows of seats behind home?

Mainly because it was built over 20 years ago and has gone through several renovations/expansions. Not much you can do to push the grandstand back at that point. But Baum is about as clean a stadium as it gets.

It won't be as big as most AAA parks, or sell beer in the stands, but it will have a combination of amenities and offerings not found outside MLB.
