From what I've seen, yes their name has been casually tossed around as a potential site for future MLB expansion or relocation of a current franchise.

Look at the TV Viewership for WBB Final Four vs CWS. You maybe surprised.

I'm actually not surprised. That's a fact that I've been bringing up to you guys whenever you're doing better than us in baseball.

Now realize that the final four and CWS aren't the only games in their respective sport.

Last year you averaged over 8k per baseball game.
You averaged about 6,600 per women's basketball game.

Also realize that the TV revenue for March Madness goes to the NCAA first and then they distribute what they feel necessary to the conferences.

Here's what throws your entire argument out of the window:
quote:

Here's how. The NCAA makes close to 90 percent of its revenue from selling tickets and TV rights to the March tournament. It then takes a good chunk of this money and pays it out to the participating teams according to how many games they play. Because it is a single elimination tournament, in order to play another game, a team has to win the one it is in.

On the men's side, for each game a team plays up to the championship game, the NCAA pays the team's conference $266,183. Thus, if the team goes all the way to the finals, it earns its conference just a shade under $1.6 million in 2017. The NCAA then also pays this $1.6 million to the conference for each of the following five years, so the total disbursement to the conference would be $9.6 million. For instance, if Oregon beats North Carolina in the semi-finals on April 1, the NCAA will pay out $9.6 million to the Pac-12 over the next six years. (The Pac-12 and most conferences then divide this booty equally among its members.)

Now, suppose the UConn women beat Mississippi State on March 31. How much will the NCAA send to the American Athletic Conference?

Zippo!

tl;dr - Women's Basketball teams get shite from the Final Four revenue.

A couple of things that will set dudy noble apart from anything in else is

24 year around two bedroom apartments and two party decks on top (350 people each)

86 personal tailgating spots in the outfield

Plus 20 more traditional skyboxes and a couple of different clubs seating (including ground level club seating)

I will not say it will be better than any triple AAA stadium, but it will be unique and the capicty will be in line with most I believe (how many AAA stadiums holdb 16k+ (I'm actually curious)?

I will however say it's going to be nicer than any college stadium. Because it will be.

Oh and yes state fans think higher of the program than we should, but it's not because we sucked at football. It's because Ron Polk and Mississippi State changed SEC baseball.

We we're the first to hire an actual full time baseball coach and Polk worked to make baseball a legit sport in the SEC.

He isn't the best coach in sec history or and I don't want to imply anything crazy like that, but his work off the field for the sport was very important.

I'm loving these two things.

That being said....I'll continue to make fun of the entire stadium until they have actual dirt in the batters box instead of field turf. That's some shite you'd see up north or something.

Skip Bertman and Ron Polk should take a bow each time a SEC baseball team wins a national championship

LINK

Every time a SEC baseball coach has a team that wins a College World Series -- as Vanderbilt's Tim Corbin did on Wednesday -- he should get a national championship ring sized for Skip Bertman and Ron Polk.

Without Bertman and Polk, former head coaches at LSU and Mississippi State/Georgia, the SEC wouldn't have emerged as the premier college baseball conference that has won 10 national championships in the past 25 years.

When Mississippi State hired Polk in 1976, he supposedly became the SEC's first full-time head baseball coach.

"A lot of SEC athletic directors thought what Polk was doing at Mississippi State was an anomaly, that it was the only place in the league where baseball could done successfully and be accepted," Bertman said.

Also, SEC athletic directors never backed any legislation proposed by the baseball coaches that would improve the sport...

"When I came in the SEC, we had rules about baseball in the SEC manual that the NCAA didn't have," Polk told me a few years ago. "I called the rules 'The Dirty Dozen.' I'd ask, 'Why do we have this rule or that rule?' Nobody seemed to know.

"Why don't we hire full-time coaches and staffs? Why don't we build new stadiums? Why aren't we allowed to play as many games as the other NCAA teams do, have as many practices as they do? I'm sure the athletic directors in our league looked at me and said, 'Who is this young whippersnapper and why is he telling us what to do?'"

There was some chatter about bringing a big league team to Charlotte, but the city went all in with the minors by building BB&T Ballpark. It's not expandable to MLB specs and I don't think anyone in power wants to court MLB either.

And Vanerbilt. A lot of schools in TX do. Lafayette does. I hate it but it’s not all that uncommon anymore. LSU has field turf in foul territory now due to issues with drainage I believe. Honestly can’t remember the exact reason for the change anymore.

And I don’t disagree with that. And it will be the nicest until the next nicest stadium is built. Arkansas was actually one of if not the first program to go all in on its baseball facility. But like keeping up with the joneses, someone will always build something better.

Yep. All true.

But today we are the Joneses, so we can enjoy it.

Hopefully we can start actually winning titles to keep up with our mouths

We are showing a hell of a financial commitment right now. If it translates to the field I see no reason to not think we will continue to have at or near the top in financial support

And Lord help everyone if we do win a title or two. As state baseball fans We already know how great we are. And we love to tell you. Can you Imagine if we actually had wins to back it up with?

But this new stadium really is a crown jewel. I’ve been to LSU, Arky, Ole Miss, and while they are fantastic stadiums, they don’t come close to the new Dude imo. I was blown away by how much larger it looks in person. Also who honestly cares about turf in foul play. What a butthurt cherry pick complaint to make.

There's an awful lot of jelly in this thread, but that was to be.expected. I'll let the completed project do the talking.
