Yep, he was always a pretty good risk of something like this happening.

Absolutely worth taking the risk, and anyone that says otherwise is a fool, but he was always an attitude red flag.

I guess Saban must be "fool!" Then again it could be just you staring at your own reflection..

Why would a five star receiver go there at this point? What is he selling them? LSU, Bama, OSU, Florida, etc all have offenses to showcase skills more. Pickens is a first day pick at any of these schools...why go to Georgia with Kirby over them?

Saban had the luxury of having the best WR group in the modern history of college football already on his team. That pretty fundamentally changes the decision process.

Saban has taken bigger risks than Pickens.

Jeez, and I thought he'd be a go for Saturday.

Guy is talented, but it's amazing how these guys can be such head cases

Completely agree. Especially for us based on our WR recruiting over the last few years. We needed someone like Pickens.

Pickens and Zack Evans were the same risk to me. I would have taken both, but can understand if you have talent at the position why you might not want to.

Should have happened after the Tennessee game.

Dude doesn’t deserve the talent he has. It’s unreal how these guys waste their God given ability.

We can relate. Antonio Callaway, I’m talking to you.

I think we offered him. But his issues kept it from being commitable at the time. Alabama took John Metchie instead, with only one WR in that class. I think it was a wise choice now.

Pickens was a projected top 10 pick after last season.

Bama recruited him some but he never got a commitable offer.

After Thomas from Georgia, never again!

Smart people learn from their mistakes!

No pun intended....

That's what I understand too. They looked hard at him, but passed due to the evals, and not the physical kind.

Also, we're getting way ahead of ourselves here. No reputable source has reported anything regarding Pickens this week other than his injury.

I'm confused, was Alabama in the same position UGA was? Why are you assuming i'm talking about Alabama? UGA needed to get a game changer in at WR. Pickens was very much worth the risk for them to take.

Alabama did not need him. They had insane depth at that position. He wouldn't be worth the risk for them.

Bama withdrew the offer almost immediately after extending it. School counselor had Bama's ear!
