Stabler the man the myth the legend

Is Stabler the greatest SEC QB character? Does any other SEC QB live up to his myriad of stories and exploits while also competing at his level? I saw him once at a Bama game in the early 2000s riding shotgun on a golf cart firing footballs at people before the game. Anyone got any good Stabler tales?

I don’t imagine you will ever see any modern QBs living life like Snake and Namath did.

When I was a kid- and he was Peak Snake- we used to stalk the Pink Pony Pub to see him. He was there- day drinking - a LOT.

No doubt, the man drank. A lot. He and Namath were two of the biggest characters to play qb in the NFL. Stabler was head and shoulders better than Namath though.

My dad said he and a few other Raiders came to his highschool in the east bay. Richmond high that’s all I got. Sounds like a down to earth good guy
