Typical Spurrier ego shite, he feels he was made to look bad, so he is trying to punish people he no longer has control over.

As I typed before ... when they fail to answer the call, they get what they deserve.

Spurrier is changing the entitlement mentality to one of a lifelong commitment between the school and all of its student athletes.

Commitments in life are a big deal, not just short term RSVPs, but long term until the day you die.

All hail Spurrier.

Viva la HBC!

How about a commitment to a school by it's former star SA & Head Coach?? Did Spurrier frick UF IYO by going to The Redskins & then SCjr?? Did he violate his lifelong commitment to UF??

I mean, after all Spurrier won the Heisman & played at UF. Why did he ever leave after he became HC at UF if he is so committed to the ideal you said he believed in above?

Is Spurrier a frickin' hypocrite POS?? Judging by your quote above about the ideals he espouses & considering SOS's actual actions in the past I think he is....

Full disclosure, you're a Spurriersessed HBC hater and we all understand that given how he has owned UGA. Although, let's be honest, there are some honest UGA fans out there who actually hate Spurrier, but still respect him.

You're simply Spurriersessed and a hater ... and haters gonna hate.

Now, with full disclosure in play, let's answer your question.

Spurrier left UF because he had worn-out his welcome there. It was a mutual thing at the time.

Most UF fans are eternally grateful for what Spurrier accomplished at Florida, and likewise Spurrier is eternally grateful for what Florida allowed him to accomplish. When they parted, it was simply time.

Spurrier recently said that he is now a Gamecock, but will always be a Gator and one day he will return there - when the time is right. That's life. In the meantime his family his here, his grandchildren are being born and raised here, and he has made a life here. He still gives money to UF, as he does SC, and he still pulls for them always unless they are playing SC. His relationship with Florida is one of family, his relationship with SC is one of passion and love ... he is literally worshiped here. That may, or may not, make sense to someone like you.

Spurrier would have never left UF if not for the internal conflicts ... I believe it had something to do with something said at a booster meeting. UF fans will do better explaining that than I could ever do, or would even try to do quite honestly.

But your hatred of Spurrier, for obvious reasons, continues to show repeatedly time after time whenever his name arises on this forum.

Your reading comprehension is lacking rig. You say he has no control over the players yet the dispute started because they wanted to use the football weight room/equipment. So yeah he does have full control over that. dumbass.

In other words no, he doesn't live what he preaches... He should've made the necessary changes in his personal life, ideology & work ethic to appease the UF powers that be, the ones who gave him the chance at his dream job & reaffirm his commitment to UF. Quitting was the easy way out, just like these kids blowing off the prez's party was taking the easy way out.

If Spurrier was truly committed to UF he should've made them fire him to prove his loyalty to his school. See Fulmer, Ray Goff, Mike Shula etc... those guys are the epitome of commitment, not Spurrier, slinking away like a thief in the night & taking the easy way out...

Please feel free to provide any links that back up your assertions that
Spurrier was forced out...TIA...

Notice how its just a couple of UGa fans saying Spurrier is in the wrong. Their hate for him is hilariously enormous.

Spurrier does and will continue to do/say whatever the hell he wants, that's his style.

If he thinks it's the right move, then that's the way it is. He knows a lot more about building a program than just about anyone.

So basically Spurrier wasnt committed to Florida because he didnt run the program into the ground like your above mentioned did? I guess I can see that logic since you are a GA fan....

To be fair, Spurrier has always said that he plans on moving back to Florida (presumably near Gainesville) when his time is done at SC, and will "keep a place" in Columbia. I don't think there is any doubt that his heart lies with UF, and we shouldn't expect anything else.

And if you're looking for a link to the above statement, I think he said it on the Dan Patrick Show, which should be on YouTube.
