I mean really, he is the Mulligan of all Mulligans. He pulled the “Choke at Doak” in ‘94 and Roy Kramer arranged the 1st Mulligan in the Sugar Bowl. FSU and Bowden trounced him in that that one. Then in 96, he had to have another Mulligan Round 2, and he finally got his Natty. One and Only. He absolutely played hell with the SEC in the 90S, yet 1 NC.
He was a tremendous football Coach, but not near as good as his mind and UF fans told him he was. 4-9-1 Shiny Pants!

Spurrier quit on his team mid season and they lost to the citadel.
He is a baby back bitch who loves to run his mouth but can’t take it himself.

Day had the record they did because Bowden was to chicken to play in the SEC. He only played 2 games a year... Miami and Florida.

Really? I guess the Out of Conference games against Notre Dame, Southern Cal, aTm, BYU in their heyday, LSU, Auburn, and more never happened I guess. But damn, I saw a bunch of those live and in person.
Never mind the fact Clemson was the reigning ACC Champ when FSU came in. GaTech was playing pretty good football at the time. UVA under George Welsh was no slouch. Not to mention the fact North Carolina with Mack Brown was a Top 10 team during This time frame.
FSU was so terrible Auburn dropped home and home series twice during that time frame. But it is OK Aubie, you go ahead being you!

Oh, he was a hell of a coach, out in front of his time.
Agreed. Anybody that could win at Duke, back in the day, was no slouch.

Steve Spurrier would have never forfeited a game against LSU.

Ken Hatfield was the coach when they won the ACC back in the early 90s.

Scared or not, he was smart enough to stay in the ACC and dominate by winning over 10 ACC titles.

I swear Bama fans have this weird anti-Spurrier thing about them that no other SEC fanbase has. Not even UGA or UT.
I love spurrier. Great source of entertainment every time he opens his mouth

Quit being a douche. You know good and well we would beat arkansas. I thought the lsu/tennessee alabama hating thing was past that

CFFreak obviously has An extreme butt hurt for going 1-11 against Spurriers Florida teams .

he drove South Carolina into the ground and once he realized how bad it was said "frick it, I'm out" mid season.
This is true. He wasn’t man enough to stick it out. He cut and run when he started absorbing defeats and couldn’t hack it being on the other side of winning. Karma’s a bitch! He’s always been chicken shite. His “homespun”, folksy humor was really thinly disguised contempt for everyone else who he deemed beneath him.

Guess I missed where name recognition makes you a great coach. 90% of the board had no idea who Joe Judge was when he was floated around for your job lol.

Yeah, great point.
And Bowden has all of 2 to show for his (much longer) tenure at FSU in the...ACC.
Thanks for the alley oop.

“I heard Paul Finebaum talking about Vanderbilt. He didn’t think they could win one, he said. To tell you the truth, I don’t know how they’re going to win one. Because they don’t have Arkansas on the schedule,” Spurrier stated
I have taken to Spurrier in his twilight years, even though I wasn't as big of a fan as other Gators were. People deify their own coaches too much and try and tear down others. Love him or hate him, Spurrier is a genuine guy and what you see is what you get. He also ran a clean program which is more than most can say regardless of their win/loss record. Spurrier had a disdain for everything that went on at UF in the 80's and he would tell people so. He pissed off a lot of boosters, but that is who he was and he didn't like all the cheating that had occurred and he thought still may be going on.
