What is the worse local sports talk show in each state?
In Texas, they all are bad. In Dallas, it is all Cowboys, all the time. In Houston, it is all Texans all the time.
When we joined the SEC, I assumed Finebaum was the place to go. I assumed it had to be an acquired taste because it was really bad. Well I assumed incorrectly, it is still really bad. Please tell me those people who call in are fictitious. Surely people from the South are not that ignorant.
I get my information from the internet and Sirius XM channel 84.

I live in hoover, Al and feel the same way. I have not listened to JOX since we stopped getting drunk Pat Dye on Monday evenings on the Finebaum show.
I have no idea what people found interesting about the Roundtable. Hearing a bunch of dorks who never played any sport at a high level talk about sports isnt for me.

I remember a couple or so years ago when Georgia got the number one recruiting class and Bounds opened his show with Kirby has done it and is the new GOAT. Someone called in and said Bo, do you even know what GOAT stands for? He responded yes and Kirby is the Goat.

It still amazes me that there are people who actually like him

That is fine some, but staying deep in the weeds hour after hour all week is boring.

I miss Max Howell on 680. He was the only real southerner on that station except Buck Belue. Ole Dude coached all over the SEC, drank with and had dirt on every coach and consequential figure in the SEC.
Talking about Notre Dame’s weak Sked-jewel and eating squirrel brains.

Baton Rouge is solid with their sports radio, these locals have no idea how lucky they are. I travel the country for work and sports radio is all I listen to.
Houston and Mississippi are the worst but Baton Rouge can hang with anyone on talent. At least they could before they lost Jordy Cuolotta.
Jox is still good but when Finebaum was just a local radio guy it was pretty epic. Paul use to take pride in getting coaches fired, glad he’s chilled off of that.

Max was good back in the day. Met him a few times when I lived in the ATL area. Great guy.

I didn't realize over the air sports talk shows were still that popular. I thought most people were listening to streaming podcasts that focused on their particular interest these days.
If you work outside alot I can see the value of listening to radio. Otherwise it seems a waste of time given the better streaming options available.

I don't know what the worst is (probably ESPN if they're still around). But, in DFW, the one I listen to is 95% pro sports and the majority of that on the Cowboys. That's fine though as there are several good podcasts for college football talk.

1010 AM in Jacksonville, 930 AM in Jacksonville… both stations have a good mix of college and pro. College is predominantly SEC but does cover ACC and some G5. There is lots of NFL discussion and not just Jaguars.
I mean I like my Jags but how many ways can you say they suck right now?

The Next Round is still good, just have to do a little more work to get it.
And they still have like 40% airtime dedicated to ads.
Very annoying when you have to click around to get to it in the first place.

I enjoy Baton Rouge sports radio, Tbob and Matt Masc etc. the only downside is they pump so much sunshine.
