Buzzards on a Gut Wagon

Before Clemson fans (Sweet n Ford etc) start diving in celebrating victory & Sporting News #1 preseason Ranking like starving buzzards on a Gutwagon, I’d quietly remind everyone how ridiculous the SN picks were last year at QB & RB, as well as the fact that none of Brent Genitals Defensive 5-Stars are on the 2020 team.

What sign of the apocalypse are we up to so far?

Of Course Justin Fields deserves it — And will likely win it, especially if he gets a 2nd crack at Brent’s Genitals

Clem’s Lawrence will be without receivers Higgins (NFL) and Ross (season ending spinal injury) for 2020. Those receivers go 6’4” and elevate to catch back shoulder sideline passes that are sometimes about 11’ in the air. Lawrence didn’t have to be accurate with those guys and those passes are a big part of what got Clem some long 3rd down conversions to sustain drives. Will be interesting to see how good Lawrence is without them.

LB: Chazz Surratt, North Carolina

It is hard to believe that only two years ago he was the starting quarterback and now is good enough to be an all-American at a completely different position.

Exactly why he won’t even be a Heisman finalist — Again!

Add overrated ETN in there and Notre Dame might beat em!

And he’s a junior, so Dad wanted to give him the honor of that name as well.

Higgins and Ross are a huge loss on the offense, but Amari Rogers will be a full year post ACL surgery and Frank Ladson started coming on as a Freshman last year. I think Clemson's passing game will be better than you are giving them credit.

Justin Fields couldn't beat out an average QB at Georgia, and flopped in the Playoff game with one of the two best teams in CFB.

Ignorance and bigotry at its finest..... Playing on an injured knee I'd say he did quite well in the semi-final game. All he did was put up more passing yards than Lawrence and they would have won that game if Olave hadn't broken his designated. Everyone with a brain in their head could see OSU was the better team and literally had the game stolen from them by the officials. Anyone that passes for 41 TD's and runs for 10 in a little more than an average of 2 qts a game and a heisman candidate is not even in the same league as that dud Fromm.

Justin Fields was never given a fair shot to compete for the starting job. Kirby fricked up big time leaning towards Fromm over Fields after he singlehandedly blew the National Title game as a freshman in 2017. Anyone with a brain and an ounce of objectivity can see Fields is infinitely more talented.

Fields will be a top 5 pick in 2021, Fromm will be out of the league by 2022.

He actually was JT Barretts backup and then broke his hand. Dwayne Haskins came in and won it with a come from behind win over Michigan. The rest is history. Haskins wasn't a bad choice though as he broke B!G passing records there in his one season. That list includes Tom Brady and Drew Brees
