Southern teams of note who have had, and have not had, dynasties.

Alabama has had the (Arkansas native) Bear Bryant dynasty, and the Nick Saban dynasty. Many national championships, as well as many claims of national championships, have resulted. Congrats Alabama!
Arkansas had the Hugo Bezdek dynasty resulting in the 1909 national championship, as well as the Frank Broyles dynasty, which began well before the Hog’s 1964 national championship and continued at least one year after Broyles when Lou Holtz inherited the Broyles dynasty and won the Rothman RFACT national championship in 1977. That is close to three decades worth of dynasty right there. Congrats to Arkansas!
Auburn certainly had the Shug Jordan dynasty and that cannot be denied. What a great historical era for Auburn. I believe Auburn can also boast about the (Arkansas native) Tommy Tuberville dynasty. A big 85 wins including one undefeated season in which Tommy was robbed of a national championship. Congrats Auburn on the Shug Jordan and Tommy Tuberville dynasties.
Clemson has never had a dynasty.
Florida had a dynasty under Steve Spurrier
and that’s all. Any talk of an Urban Meyer dynasty has been cancelled due to countless despicable acts of sexual deviancy and debauchery. Sickening. Just sickening.
Florida State had one of the greatest dynasties of all time under Coach Bobby Bowden, a dynasty that was sadly ruined under Jimbo Fisher. But congrats to Florida State anyway! It was a great run before Fisher got there!
Georgia can boast the Wally Butts dynasty, the Vince Dooley dynasty, and I think we are on the verge of seeing a Kirby Smart dynasty on the horizon. Much respect UGA!
Congratulations also to the Georgia Tech dynasties of John Heisman, William Alexander and Bobby Dodd. One national championship for each of those dynasties, as well as producing Frank Broyles, who would go on to produce his own dynasty at Arkansas. And let’s not forget Georgia Tech’s 1990 national championship under Bobby Ross!
Kentucky is a proud member here based on the (Arkansas native) Bear Bryant dynasty, resulting in a national championship, I think in 1950. Congrats to Kentucky!
LSU certainly had some great years under Arkansas native Charlie McClendon, but throughout all those wins came zero national championships for Cholly Mac’s LSU, and only one SEC championship. Therefore, given all the great tradition and a few accidental national championships under this coach or that coach, LSU has never had a dynasty.
Miami Hurricanes were no doubt a southern dynasty under former Arkansas Razorback Jimmy Johnson. We all know the history. Congrats Miami and welcome to the club.
Ole Miss had the Johnny Vaught dynasty, and I am proud to give them credit for it. They deserve all the accolades that come with being a member of the Dynasty Club. Love you Rebs and Black Bears and Sharks, all of you!
Mississippi State never had a dynasty, and for the sake of brevity, let’s also get it out of the way by saying neither did Vanderbilt or Mizzou, which is actually not a southern team anyway, and South Carolina.
Oklahoma State never achieved southern dynasty status, but they were on the verge under the direction of former Arkansas Razorback Jimmy Johnson, and then former Arkansas Tech linebacker Pat Jones. Nice try Pokes!
Congratulations of course to Tennessee on the Bob Neyland dynasty! It’s a shame to see how far you all have fallen, especially lately, but at least you have good memories of your famed war hero and championship coach! It’s also I believe a legitimate consolation to mention Pittsburgh Panther national champion coach Johnny Majors, who won three SEC championships at Tennessee. Why not let UT fans claim some of that Pitt dynasty? I have no problem with it!
Texas, I hate giving you all credit for anything, but your Darrell Royal dynasty cannot be denied. What a great coach and great person he was. As well, he was smart enough to entrust his dynasty by hiring the next coach, former Arkansas Razorback Fred Akers.
Finally, Texas A&M has never had a dynasty. But Baylor and SMU and the Houston Cougars came pretty close at times. Thank you Grant Teaff and Bobby Collins and Bill Yeoman!

Not tracking your definition of dynasty.

I think it's "anything he wants to be a dynasty is one."

Arkansas has yet to win a football national title. No CFB dynasty for the Hogs, ever.

Looks more like "best coach at "blank" era. I would say Dabo is on a pretty good run even if I can't stand his sideline antics.

No Vanderbilt? Went a 12 year stretch with only 3 losses and had 9 conference championships?

Pat Dye had a dynasty of conference championships while at Auburn, and was robbed of the NC in 1983. I would put him in there over Tubbs who only had the single stellar year in 2004.

That was in a bizarro universe that simply doesn’t exist anymore. It just bleeds over occasionally in the form of Wake Forest potentially being a playoff team this year

Auburn baws are going to be Skoal-spittin’ furious that you didn’t mention the “Pat Dye dynasty” of the 1980s.

S/O to Sewanee, the South’s first great power and dynasty.

1899 Sewanee is the greatest college football team pound-for-pound of all time. Harry Rex needs to look them up.

Arkansas had the Hugo Bezdek dynasty
One of the more interesting characters in sports
history.
Bezdek, born in Czechoslovakia, was the only person
in history who coached and was a manager of a professional baseball and football team (Cleveland & Pittsburgh Pirates).
In college, he was a head coach in football,
basketball & baseball (Arkansas, Oregon, Penn State).
Bezdek is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
Bezdek & his undefeated Arkansas team 1909---Bezdek
wears sweater with "C" (Chicago) on far right.

Weird when I go to NCAA site it gives Arkansas 1964 NC
I’d be scared if I was OU as well. Don’t get to play the poors in the big 12 for much longer

The NCAA used to have "dynasties" listed years ago in one of their record books. The bar was pretty low though.

Why did you mention Oklahoma State and not Oklahoma? If it is geography then Oklahoma State shouldn’t be mentioned either.
And Oklahoma State never sniffed dynasty status under Johnson. You just couldn’t help yourself from yet another shameless Arkansas plug. But that begs the question why you wouldn’t have mentioned Switzer.
