I wouldn't have imagined a team you've beaten 7 times in a row would make you melt either, yet here we are. Please leave troll attempts to your more experienced posters. You're working yourself into a quite a tizzy.

Sir you are embarrassing yourself

Numbers don’t lie.....given population and area Texas produces CFB players along the same lines as Kentucky. The numbers of titles in Texas doesn’t lie either......there simply aren’t great football players in Texas....good baseball, good soccer....but mediocre football at best.

153 players in the NFL from Texas last season. 196 from Florida.....an area about 1/5 of that of Texas. 100 from Georgia. If you overlay Texas over the SE United States there would be right at 750 nfl players last year from the SE compared to 153 from Texas......Fisher went from the epicenter of 3-5 star recruits to a fringe area barely producing any. Numbers are what numbers are. TAM is a nice little program.....they will always struggle in the SEC because they are to far detached from comparable recruiting bases.

If you can only have 85 on a roster, and A&M can get the first pick in the state then why does it matter if the state has less per area? That is more like a Big 12 problem than our problem, Jimbo is just taking the cream off the top so far.

What in the Holy hell are you talking about?

quote:

States with most NFL players
Florida - 212
California - 191
Texas - 179
Georgia - 120
Ohio - 82
Alabama - 62
Louisiana - 59
Pennsylvania - 59
New Jersey - 52
South Carolina - 52
North Carolina - 49
Illinois - 41
Michigan - 40
Virginia - 38

750????

Nah Jimbo made the right move...gonna get more money and support from A&M than FSU.You think Saban had
a better recruiting base than Urban when he took the Bama job? Of course not but he sure as hell got an open checkbook and all the support that he needed and there's tons of talent in Texas...WGAS about per capita
or geographic area?

Not sure why or how the geographic size is relevant in any way

We’ve been saying that for at least 50 years in Georgia. Fisher didn’t get the cream of the crop in Florida.....how is Texas going to be better?

Alabama had a reputation for winning titles before Saban.....yes, Alabama is in the center of the most fertile CFB recruiting grounds. TAM is not. Kids playing high school football in the SE are inundated with SEC and ACC football news and hype.....this is true even of TAMs backyard.....CFB just isn’t as important in Texas as it is in the SE......and kids want to go where they get recognition. I go to several Texas Tech and a couple of Texas games a year....all big 12 games.....I promise you they just don’t mean as much to either fan base. I also talk to the perfect demographic for CFB fans from Texas all day every day.....if CFB ever comes up it does so because they know I’m a UGA fan.....otherwise they could care less. The same demographic in the SE had claimed allegiance to a school by the age of 8 and could recall players and games down to the smallest detail at the drop of a hat. You will never see a line drawn down the middle of a family reunion in July over Texas and TAM like you will see over Auburn and Alabama. Odds are pretty good that if you talk to a 30 year old male in 2/3s of Texas about college football if he is a fan at all he will be an Alabama fan.......the exception in the oil field is guys from Louisiana.....they’ll talk LSU football because it means something in Louisiana......outside of TAM alumni I don’t think I’ve ever met a TAM fan. Jimbo left the epicenter of CFB where he was in the process of dismantling a dynasty for the fringe of the CFB world. TAM is no better off other than cohesion at the moment which will last until about mid October if things are shaky.

Ask TAM.....they joined the SEC to better their position in recruiting the SE and their visibility in the SE. At the very base level you need Grass and 22 people to play football.....at least half the state of Texas has little of the former and you’d have to drive a 200 mile radius to find the latter.....

They did.

After the 2015 season.

LSU President F. King Alexander nixed the deal because of because of a perceived negative public perception during the then "Budget Crisis" BS.

FKA.

No we didn’t.
That wasn’t the reason we accepted the SEC invite.
