Somewhat ironic that THIS is the year to match up 2 SEC teams in the BCS final

This has to be the worst season for the SEC as a whole that I can remember. Yet this might be the one time we get 2 teams matched up in the BCS championship game. I find that interesting. Hopefully the rest of the nation doesn't figure this out this week and decide maybe Bama doesn't "deserve" it.

I never really thought about it that way but it is pretty strange
This was the SEC's "down year" and all other conferences choked their chance at the NCG away and are leaving an all-sec BCS game

you don't think that maybe with the SEC being down it's actually the most likely year for it to happen? allowing for two teams in the same division to go unbeaten minus the game against each other?

This is probably *why* we have the chance to put 2 teams in. With so many bad teams in the conference, there was less chance for the upsets that normally knock additional teams out.
When Florida, Tenn and AU are all terrible, that makes for a pretty easy schedule across the conference.

SEC is down every year. CFB is down every year.

Dont let the Gumps read this, they are trying to convince themselves that the Big 12 is awful and the SEC is as strong as ever

SEC has been very weak this year

That is exactly what has happened. Which makes it somewhat ironic. Conference is terrible so the 2 best teams go undefeated. But since SEC has reputation for being strong, the 2 undefeateds are by default the best 2 in the nation. Who has Bama really beaten this year? Arkansas? LOL

The SEC is just extremely top heavy this year. But if LSU wins, SEC is down this year

That's being generous. Besides LSU and Bama, the SEC is pretty terrible this year. I don't know if Arkansas is really any good. I think they should be around 15. Georgia is probably 3rd best team and they lost to Boise, at home.

Let the bowls play out before we say this is a "down" year. Hell, the SEC (with the exception of Florida) skull drug the ACC this past weekend.

Arky would kick the shite out of UGA. UGA lost to the only decent teams they have played. Calling their schedule a cupcake of horseshite this year is being generous. Richt better bring a surplus of lube to ATL

You're an idiot, son. A computer doesn't play football games... humans do. Most rational people have the ability to look at teams and compare them based on their performance and the competition they compete against. Which is why humans have overwhelmingly selected Alabama as the #2 team in the nation. A computer simply relies on stats and numbers that are easily skewed. The Big 12 is NOT better than the SEC... head to head the SEC easily wins more games.

I think top heavy is a better description than down or weak. LSU and Bama are the 2 best teams in the country and UGA and Arkansas could compete with any other team in the country. USCe is a solid team as well. Vandy, MSU and AU, while not good, are equivalent to the middle teir teams in other conferences.

I agree with this. But who has Arky beaten this year?
I think it's telling when the 3rd and 4th best teams in the SEC are highly questionable.

Yea Ole Miss, Tennesse, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida, Miss State, etc would rally have teams shaking in their boots

LSU is in the SEC too man I hate that it is down, but to act like any of the above teams are good is a joke

Imagine if the SEC is 2-5 going into the national title game... you think the pundits are going to say-- "maybe we should have let someone else in there to see how good they really are?"

We don't even have to show up in Atlanta and will still play for the BCS title.
