He was small, but scrappy as hell.

Once, as sitting governor, he knocked out a reporter (who had written something unfavorable in the Times Picayune) in a diner at 8am.

The University of Alabama football team used the interlocking UA when Auburn was known as Alabama Polytechnic Institute.

Alabama A&M has a similar one with the A and M inside the interlock.

Yes, didn't notice that. The site I got the pic from said it was 1927, but the scene did look a little too modern to be that old.
