Refs should call what they SEE, not what they ASSUME happened. If he didn’t see a definitive block in the back, calling one based off of context clues is poor officiating and will lead to soccer-style theatrics where every player is trying to fool the refs.

As an LSU fan I loved Jamal Adams, but was always acting to get calls. Annoyed me because it felt cheap.

The Bama player wasn't trying to fool the ref (i.e. flopping).
I think no penalty would have been called had the State player not threw his hands up.
Sort of the reverse of the flop, I guess.
But I agree with you, the refs should definitely see something.
What was that example years ago when the Florida lineman shoves an Arkansas defensive player and somehow the Arkansas player got an unsportsmanlike penalty?

Not to mention a clear fumble on the 1st drive of the game.
This was more clear to me than the block in the back.

What's not quite so clear is why Moorhead didn't throw the challenge flag. He would've won that one easily.

So many bad calls and questionable things..

For example, After the bad call on the TD (and it was bad.) the very next play was a TD. After the catch a flag was thrown. Delay of game.

That has a lot of people saying if the pass had been incomplete, the flag would have never been thrown resulting in a loss down. Delay is a 5 yard penalty and a dead ball foul.

Again, given opponents reasons to question this game

True. He was diving to try to make a tackle.

Not exactly true. He puts his hands on the lower back of the defender, but doesn't appear to push off.

He snapped the ball 3 seconds after the clock hit zero.

Another example of how L8U fans lack any self-awareness.

R-Kansas fan points out a bad call you benefited from and you mock them and post crying smiles.

Afterward you go back to crying 24/7 about Alabama benefiting from bad calls.

That's not reviewable.

The delay of game was the right call. Block in the back was not. They were lucky to even be down there Bama players missed two easy tackles and did not lock up, otherwise State doesn't rush for 50 yards in the game nor even sniff the end zone. They tore Fitzgerald a new anal orifice and that all world center State has had no chance with Q Williams.

Good. Hope they covered all the missed calls last week as well. These shitty refs need to go.

Even the SECs own network was calling bullhshit on this. I think the words were “ inexcusable” and “ridiculous”

We had no penalties in the game, unusual. Yet if you check stats over the past several season our opponents are almost always the least penalized.

Remember the National Title Game where Clemson ran right at 100 plays with no offensive penalties. None. Against one of the best fronts we have put on a field and they won the game on a blatant pick.

So what you're saying is that you have no clue about what's reviewable and what's not.

An Auburn fan posted earlier that David Smith's crew is the second highest rated in the league and does a good job.

But that was an intelligent Auburn fan.
