Honestly, the 4 best right now?
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Tennessee
4. LSU
But you know this is never going to happen. I wish it would though. We'd get a really good playoffs.

impossible when ad's from different conferences are on the board

I believe the 4 teams with the best records in a power conference should make the playoffs.

I can understand that based on "deserved" but the 4 best?
I think LSU would beat both Oregon and Michigan with no problem.
Tennessee would too unless Georgia just destroyed any confidence they had.

It's a nice story. But not all conferences are the same.
Hell, even Alabama would be favored to beat Michigan and Oregon and would probably beat them as unremarkable as we are this year.

Anyone know what the old bcs formula has for top 4?
Posted on 11/7/22 at 4:22 pm to lsuag88
It should be based on on field results and on the field results only. Otherwise why even play a regular season?
“Best” is usually code word for this team lost when we don’t think they should’ve so let’s give them a pass anyways.
I don’t care if your QB was injured or if you’re a better team now then you were at the beginning of the season. That’s all part of the game.

If they expand the playoffs, there shouldn't be conference championship games anymore
Especially if the SEC moves to pods. Seems like it would be a bit of a challenge to have a SECCG without a game beforehand with the 4 pod winners. Just too much football

I think we beat TCU, maybe Oregon… seems like an even match up there. I can’t speak to Michigan at all though. Ohio State never scares me.

It really should be.

Yes we want the 4 best teams. Why?

Hey.. We should have computers to take the BIAS out of this... Maybe a MATRIX of computer rankings to balance the inerrant, and unavoidable bias.. NOPE...USC gets left out and then we have to have 2 champs, sort of. And NOW we need a committee of biased people to assimilate the information, and decide...which are the best, or most deserving, or does a conference championship equal a loss, and are all conferences created equally?

Let’s play out the season before anyone stakes claim to being 1of the 4 best.

If LSU wins out - they’re in. I don’t understand bitching with so many games left to play.

I have to agree, it not the margin of the loss it’s the number of losses. Ohio and Michigan will produce another one loss team. Texas might beat TCU, and LSU has to win out. A very tall order. Time to see how this season gets fleshed out. I think LSU and Tennessee are both long shots

Of course, cajunbama would never approve

Taking the computers and public out is never a good sign. In small rooms with a handful of folks making decisions. They arrive at a goal ($$$$) then backtrack the narrative to fit the goal.
