just the 4 most deserving? Remember 2011! The two BEST. That was the objective . I’m just asking has that changed now that its 4?

"Best" is more subjective than "deserving".

I don't pay attention to those things anymore, but it's supposed to be 4 best.

just the 4 most deserving?

This is a slippery slope for the CFP. If it really is the 4 Best (most talented) teams then why even play the games?

Bama, UGA, and Ohio State would make it every year regardless because the have the 3 most talented rosters.

Now as far as LSU, its really muddy because you will have a one loss conference runner up and a one loss team that didn't win their division. I think we'd make the playoff in that scenario but they left a 2 loss Penn State out in favor of an Ohio State team that they beat so who knows.

I don't get to make that choice. Why do I care? If my team's in, I just root for them.

I don't think most talented means best team.

How is anyone supposed to know who the "best" are?

It'll be fricked up as long as subjective opinions are used to determine playoff teams.

It should be the 4 conference champions no matter win or loss. They deserve it, 100%. No conference should send 2 teams, they had their shot at it and if they loss in the championship, oh well. Dicking over teams who have done all that is necessary to be there is not right.

Another way of looking at it is maybe the CWS and NCAA Final four. Take a team or 2 who lost their division and couldn't win out, but you have 2-3 other teams who did, its not fair they get put in over them.

Now I know the # of games are completely different in these sports with the brackets, but what I'm saying is the principle. Take it for the principle only and football should be no different.

It’s kind of a mixture of the best and most deserving, but it’s definitely not about the best alone.

If we picked the top 4 teams playing the best RIGHT NOW and disregarded previous losses, the top 4 rankings would look different.

By the end of the year, it's always obvious.

Which is fricking great because often times the committee is stupid. They should have done some kind of BCS formula for figuring this shite out rather than a small group of people. ESPN promoted bullshite.

Expanding the playoff will happen, but it will also make the conference championship games completely not matter. I mean, they already pretty much don’t.

Let me guess: you think LSU is one of the 4 best teams right now?

Do you really think that a two-loss team that got blown out 40-13 on their home field is one of the four best in the country?

I don't.

I don't think anyone really knows what "best team" means to the CFP committee, and that even changes each year with new people on the committee each year

If they expand the playoffs, there shouldn't be conference championship games anymore
