Lacy is 5'11 and listed at 230.

Gurley is around 6'2 and pushing 230. Just carry their weight different on different frames.

He's taller than Gurley as well.

No he is not.

NFL Draft lists Lacy at 5'11.

Gurley is listed everywhere as 6'1 or 6'2

Sounds like somebody doesn't understand how gaining muscle works

Oh yea, with the execise physiology degree, nutrition minor, internship with UF Strength and Conditioning, and the 4 certifications I have, I have no idea how gaining muscle works.

I assumed the kid had a little help when I read the article. I've also seen a few elite athletes make strides similar to that in a year's time.

That's what a summer of top end Steroids will do. You can't put on 40 lbs of MUSCLE in one summer without help. Period. You can put on 40 lbs. just not of pure muscle.

That's what I assumed. And it's not a knock on him. Steroids are very prevalent in CFB.

But I didn't want this thread to be a "steroid thread".

thanks

I'm not in the field anymore. But it was fun and I plan on getting back into strength coaching before it's all said and done.

Now I'm in insurance and personal training

I stand corrected. Damn, never saw Gurley as a 6'1 back. Actually, Lacy seemed bigger and taller than Yeldon as well, but is not the case. Still don't think he was playing at 230 last season. Great back, though. If true, he has some serious explosion and quickness for that size.

There's no possible way that Gurley gained 40 pounds of MUSCLE in a year, I don't give a shite what you claim your credentials are.

Fwiw, if Gurley got this through roids and doesn't ever get caught I am absolutely fine with it.

What's funny is that Gurley already ran tough. He played bigger than his listed weight. If he hasn't lost any acceleration, ill be surprised. Rbs have a saying; slow to, fast through( slow to the hole and fast through it). If he can keep his acceleration ( which was elite) with this added weight, he'll be EVEN MORE of a monster.

40 pounds of muscle is not possible for someone that young to build in little under a year. Besides, did that really matter 7 months ago

This. It goes on at all SEC schools probably. Obviously they all get away with it. Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

I agree. Steroids are prevalent at every single football program. Everyone of them. Players know exactly when to cycle off.
