So the tarp game puts UofSC as a host?

They haven’t won a series since April, are we sure that’s kosher? I mean I get the win enough to get in and rest the arms and heal up but mailing it in for a months seems a bit much.

pretty sure sweeping SEC Champion Florida is just a little more significant than beating 3rd place LSU 14-5.

Three sites in South Carolina is a bit much

A month ago. Since then? Nothing.

If you want an honest answer, it is reported that the committee took into consideration that after 40 games we were a top 8 team, and injuries hurt us.

Right or wrong, the metrics generally still showed we deserved to host, and injuries being the reason for poor play gave us the nod

Overall they are a top 16 team. If you factor in last month maybe not. But they are as dangerous as anybody fully staffed

I agree - Coastal is suspect with their now 15 rpi - but the rest of college baseball didn't do anything to take it away from them.

Because the hosts are determined by a full body of work, not just one month.

Also sounds like they took the whole season into consideration (Tennessee fans were arguing against Kentucky hosting for similar reasons).

Our league is bar none the best. I am glad the committee allowed that to be rewarded. That said, the SEC has pressure to present results because 8 hosts won't be given again if some of us lay eggs.

USC hoping for rain this weekend so they can pull the tarp out at will and chase pitchers out of the game!

Hey, it’s a great strategy! You should consider it a home field advantage for your club.

I could see that but it’s been a month since they won a series and didn’t do much in the SECT. They are not the team they were 6 weeks ago. Why reward limping to the end of the season? Why crowd the state of South Carolina?

Just looks like that canceled LSU game gave them an unearned spot.

This thread has a bad smell to it. I think it might have gone bad.
