LSU fans are arguing that this is just modern college football, ignoring the fact that the reason they are having to even consider selling part of the athletic department is that they went on a drunken bender and spent $200 million they didn’t have. Now they are out of money, their credit cards are maxed out, and they have borrowed all they can from friends. That got them through last month. Now they are trying to figure out how to pay next month’s rent and bills.
But don’t worry, now the governor is involved.
If this were happening at Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri or Texas A&M the first page would be covered in threads started by LSU fans ridiculing the school and their fans for being poor and desperate.

I am not so broke that I am having to consider a private equity deal, so I’ve got that going for me.

It's just the MO of this board. We've moved the goalposts from "LSU is selling 10% of its future media revenue" to "LSU is possibly considering privatizing its concessions".

If you think this is just an LSU problem you’re fooling yourself. NIL is out of hand and it won’t be long before boosters are tired of feeding exponentially more money into a machine with literally 0% return.

For sure not just an LSU problem.
Most AD run on pretty thin margins and they’re about to give a huge chunk of their revenue to their players.

On one side there are multiple news agencies - some very sketchy; some very well established, including some in Louisiana with ties to LSU - who have reported LSU has worked out a funding deal that is similar to a private equity deal. The privatizing of concessions is an additional new wrinkle and would be the cherry on top of this shite sundae.
On the other side you have Matt Moscona, SidewalkTiger, and other LSU Ranters saying the news reports are wrong.
