Nice try Cap, but you’re an idiot. I don’t agree with any of these players being allowed to play. But there is clearly a ton of mental gymnastics to make LSU the bad guy and defend everyone else.

In the entire history of football, any player who left college and got paid per diem at mini camp would be considered “professional”

And considering Bamas basketball team, I still dont understand why LSU is being singled out

I hope everyone realizes that you do in fact have to sign a contract to attend mini camp. It’s obviously not the same as a full on NFL deal, but it is certainly a contract that waives liability and outlines daily pay rates, housing, etc.

I have had to sign a liability waiver and a contract every time I have gone to a new gun range.

Just because I signed a waiver and a contract that I will abide by the range’s rules - such as where I can or can’t go and when I can go there - does not mean I am an employee of the gun range. And they sure aren’t paying me, just the opposite.

Once again, a Tiger is angry because they don’t understand the rules or laws.

Again, you might want that to be true.

But the actual rules and laws say otherwise.

Let me ask you a question. Is per diem considered income?

They literally made the rule last week…

Can you show me any examples of players in the past attending mini camp and then returning to play in college?

1. Undrafted Free Agent (UDFA) Contract: Once a team wants an undrafted player at minicamp, they often sign them to a standard UDFA contract—usually a 3-year deal at the league minimum salary. Even if not signed right away, teams may still offer per-diems for minicamp participation ($1,700–$2,900/day).

2. Participation Waiver / Liability & Medical Release: Players sign an offseason participation waiver before attending rookie minicamp or OTAs. This ensures that if they sustain a football-related injury during those workouts, the team must still negotiate in good faith on their contract. These waivers typically cover medical clearance, liability, and outline how injuries are handled contractually.

nothing to see here. in this instance, contracts and contractually do not apply because CLK bad bad bad

No but I can show you a player that played NBA g league for 3 years then returned to the SEC and played 5 games without the SEC punishing the institution that played him

Not for tax purposes, but for the determination of amateurism in the entire history of college sports, yes

Now answer a question for me, do you believe Alabama was wrong and deserves even worse punishment for playing a player that spent 3 years in professional basketball?

I try not to use pronouns with a confusing antecedent, but sometimes fail. In this case, "they" refers to the party mentioned in the first sentence, Ole Miss.

Another Tiger mad because he doesn’t understand the rules.

All college football players who are out of eligibility are entered into the NFL draft automatically. He didn’t have to withdraw. I don’t think he could withdraw.

He never signed a professional NFL contract.

He was never on an NFL roster.

He never was paid at minicamp, he received a per diem. The government does not consider per diem as income.

Calling a player who only attended an NFL minicamp an NFL player is like calling a 13 year old who attended LSU’s summer football camp a college player.

actually it is who signed a specific type of pro contract aka UDFA contract

hard to argue that is a pro and not an NBA g-league player

Your insitution literally was the first to play a player that was formerly professional. Not only that, he left with eligibility and was pro for multiple years

other than being more blatant than what LSU is trying to do, how is it different?
