We know teams do it with a guy on 2nd.
My issue is Houston played 1/2 their games away...so how do you sign steal that way?

from what I saw reported the other day.......the Astros were stealing signs home and away.

The Houston Astros’ sign-stealing operation appears to have involved more than just trash can banging and occurred in some form at both home games and on the road. Details from the Wall Street Journal’s Jared Diamond reveal that the team also utilized an Excel-based application, programmed with an algorithm that could decode the opposing catchers’ signs. The program, called “Codebreaker,” suggests it was the Astros’ front office that laid the groundwork for the team’s electronic sign-stealing scheme.

But doesn't explain cameras in other teams ballpark.

they were probably sitting somebody in center sending the live feed to the video room.
ETA They may have been using the live t.v. feed.

MLBs handling of this is as bad as the steroid scandal.
For the good of the entire sport, they should have moved on. They all cheat, it's tradecraft.

but you can't let that continue. Knowing the pitch that is coming is worse than juicing.

How do you get live feed of the catchers signs on the road?

They’re trying to just make the Astros the scapegoat. If they took the newer allegations as serious as Friers half the league would be under investigation.

Yep, at some point the catcher says to himself, hey self, these hitters are sitting on every pitch, gee, what should I do....

The fact that y’all were actively cheating against the Nats makes the World Series won all the more impressive.

each game is broadcast. They are constantly showing a shot over the pitcher's shoulder. They could also have a plant in the centerfield bleachers. They obviously went to a lot of trouble stealing the signs. They had it figured out.

MLB’s investigation said there was no evidence of any cheating in 2019.

I played baseball my whole life. Stealing signs without the aid of electronics or technology is part of the game. If I have a guy on second and your catcher doesn't have an indicator sign and just gives the pitcher a "1" or "2" and my guy on second relays that the batter, that's your fault.

I wasn't - we were being sleazy in Latin America like every other team did and still does. The punishments were a joke and banning Coppy from baseball a frickin travesty. It worked out because we got AA, but the holier than thou bullshite against us was laughable given the stuff that has and does goes down in that arena.
What the Astros did was completely different.

I played for a coach that could pick up the third base coaches sign after one game. If the opposing coach didn't change his indicator by the second game, it was bad news for them. Trying to figure out a pitcher's tell has always been part of the game too. What Houston, Boston, and whoever else did is just flat out cheating. There is no other way to try and spin it.

It’s as much a “part of the game” as it is to have signs in the first place. Baseball pitchers were never intended to be the center of the game. Of course the game has evolved over time but in my opinion, if signals are part of the game, the finding ways to steal them should be too.

I played college baseball. Sign stealing has been a part of baseball since the game was invented. Just because the Astros figured out a better way to do it than anyone else doesn’t bother me at the least. The more technology advances, the bigger edge you can get if you’re ahead of everyone else. That’s just the world we live in. I could give 2 shits that the Astros figured out how to do it better than everyone else. You still have to be able to hit the damn ball. The media is making this out to be a much bigger issue than it is. Every team does it. The Stros just got caught cause of some pussy pitcher that ratted them out. Plain and simple!

Saban does it in football. He done it to Auburn in 2010 and OM later on.
