All these people sitting at home bitching about the location of a tournament that they don't attend
The only opinions that matter are those of the coaches and players, and the travelling fans that make the effort to attend every year. If they want it moved, fine

I'm being selfish... move it to Sugar Land. I can walk to the games from my house...
Oh yeah, I'm always gone because LSU is in a softball super regionals that weekend!!

That's the point: Move the game so more people will want to attend.

Thanks for getting a following. Now it's time to move it to a place where those numbers will grow even more.

CPM has been saying the past few yrs that the league's coaches love Hoover & have always been polled in the past when this issue came up. FWIW, he said the coaches were not polled this yr. Like everything coming out of the League office, it will boil down to what brings in the most money to the League; what is best for the League's fans will have nothing to do with it, a fact proven over & over again.

As soon as you put SEC games/tournaments in Texas attendance drops.

No replies, just down votes, typical.

not true. it seems that that's the only type of response you pick out. most LSU fans want this tournament to staiy in Hoover because it is drivable or flyable and the folks putting the tournament on do a damn good job. and if one has any sense they can find plenty to do in Birmingham.

Hoover's location is convenient, but there's nothing to do there after the game.
Holy frick.
New Orleans: As of the April 1, 2012, estimate, the metropolitan statistical area (MSA) had a population of 1,227,096.
Birmingham: The population of this metropolitan statistical area as of the 2010 census was 1,130,047.
If you can't find something to do in Birmingham, there's no where they could move the tourney to make you happy. You're a social leper.

Scared of urban areas.
AutoZone is ridiculously fan and kid friendly.
But they read lots of articles on their Facebook newsfeeds that tell them Memphis is a scary place where white people get robbed all the time.

Population quite literally has nothing to do with it. Birmingham is an up and coming city, I should know. But it is not on the same level as Nola, Nashville, Orlando, and others when it comes to attractions for folks coming from out of town. Not many, if anyone, would choose to spend time in BHam over and of the cities I listed. There are numerous better places for the tournament.

Hoover, Nashville, Nola. 3 yr rotation
Little Rock/Memphis is a good location. Nice AA/AAA stadiums there.

I agree. I've never had a problem in Memphis. Not one violent crime incident.
