Obviously for LSU the keys for the game are going to be limiting the Tide's possessions, not allowing huge chunk plays over the top, and winning the turnover margin. But LSU will have to score to stay in this game and as we well know you cant just jam the ball down Bama's throat.

With the Tide offense being so potent this year we haven't heard much about the defense. What do you think your weak points are in the secondary, and are you at all worried about Burrow being able to take advantage of those weaknesses?

Thompson is an All-American safety, McKinney has played really well at the other safety spot.

Surtain is as advertised, and maybe even better. Not many QB's are throwing his way.

Saivion Smith got his first start against Tennessee and played really well. Diggs was playing really well before he got hurt, so this spot is still kinda iffy.

Shy Carter has been pretty solid at the STAR thus far this year.

Really helps that our DL is just mauling people lately, so if we have any glaring weaknesses in the secondary, they're not as obvious when the QB is constantly fearing for his life.

If we have a "weak" spot in coverage, it's our LBs. They haven't been great in coverage thus far.

Still meshing as a unit, but they are getting better every week. I think Deionte Thompson (#14) will play very well Saturday. He has exceptional closing speed.

We give up a lot of passes in the middle of the field, so it should be interesting to see how LSU attacks..

From what I’ve observed our weak spot in the secondary is experience. They get out of position at times. I feel a lot of the issues in the secondary are actually stemming from the LB’s not making the right calls for the defense at times as well. Secondary is athletic as they always are, but just young.

Not so much the secondary, but the LB's have shown an issue covering opposing RB's and TE's in the passing game. Im actualy impressed with the play of the DB's this year

RB dump offs and scrambles. Coverage on slants and jump balls for the WR's

People seem to be highlighting communication issues with the secondary but I'd expect that with a bunch of young guys.

One of the things that ive been encouraged about this year is Burrow's ability to put the ball on the money on quick slants and deep crossing routes across the middle.

The weak spot is not really any if the dbs or lbs individually in coverage, it's been confusion in passing off receivers. Arkansas especially was effective attacking that with lots of cross up plays. Talent is as strong as it always is, at least the starters

Finally, a serious thread.

One weakness, as mentioned before, is the inexperience that leads to missed assignments resulting in those 13-16 yard passes that keeps drives alive.

If I was calling for LSU I'd look to the 5-10 yard slant route over the blitzing LB.

Can't wait to see these juggernauts play

The middle of the field is our biggest weakness. And as you said Oeaux, we are still working on our communication issues. I wouldn't necessarily say we give up "broken coverage" plays, but more or less learning to play with each other.

LSU will be able to make some throws, so we will see how our secondary adjusts as the game goes on..

We've had weaknesses in coverage, especially with the LBs, as has been mentioned.

You've had weaknesses protecting Burrow...only two teams in the SEC have given up more sacks, and Alabama leads the league in sacks.

So which of these two factors ends up overshadowing the other? It will be interesting to see. If you protect Burrow better than you have all year, you can do damage to our LBs in coverage and our secondary. If you don't, Burrow won't have much success throwing the ball.

LB's aren't getting deep enough in their drops to tighten the windows up? I would expect that a lot of that has been shored up with the off week.

I like Objective analysis.

We need to get the ball out quickly. We’ve had a revolving door of an OLine the entire season. This may be the first game we have 5/5 starters playing.

Hopefully we get pass protection figures out.

LSU has had some OLine injuries and ...off the field problems this season. Finally have a healthy line with a little depth. Hope that solves the pressure problems

We've had a lot of shuffling with injuries on the O-line since the beginning of the year. Honestly one of the best coaching jobs with this team this year. Bama is obviously going to get pressure but I'm more comfortable with the O-line right now than I've been all year even though its Bama. It'll have to be some quick passes and the running game to get those guys to slow down their rush and think a little.

Solid group. Savion smith can be picked on a bit with back shoulders and deep down the field. I'm sure LSU will try a few back shoulders with the 6'7 receiver against him. But it's a much better group than folks think about them.

Alabama's best CB, Diggs, is out for the year.

He's #7. 6'2'' and long af.

14 is the best safety in the country.

Safety Xavier McKinney grades as the 4th best safety in the SEC in PFF's calculations. He blitzes a ton.

I'm sure LSU fans know this guy. He hasn't disappointed AT ALL.

Saivion Smith was once at LSU. He's another tall and lengthy corner.

I feel like they clamp down and don't allow much for most of the game but WILL give up big plays at times. I think it's Smith most often when it happens.
