So you think it was just garbage time stats? Not directly anything he was doing or Bama wasnt doing
Nah.

I think Tennessee got aggressive and exploited the secondary.

They're not scared to get beat. But it's tough beat a group that talented over and over and I don't think LSU plays a style that is willing to even try to constantly test them.

LSU should know a lot about Bama's DB. There are a lot of players LSU desperately wanted and a former LSU Tiger.

Let me ask this, and keep in mind Im being civil and just asking questions. Do these numbers look like this becasue Guarantano is poo water or did Chryst do somethings that Bama hadnt schemed for?

No, it's a good question. It's hard to say. Chryst played really well. Did you think Auburn had a good defense when you played them? They made Guarantano look like the Heisman candidate...21-32-328-2-0...87.7 QBR. Probably the best game of his career. So who knows? At the end of the day, these guys are just kids. It's hard to predict sometimes how they are going to react.

Biggest difference I have seen in Delpit and Thompson is the turnovers. Delpit with 5 int's and Thompson with 2 total and 0 in the last 5 games.
First, I think Delpit is absurdly good. Love watching him play. But to be fair to Thompson, he only plays half the game and with his range he has probably gotten his hand on more passes than most people could. He can't pick it if they don't throw it near him.

If I were LSU I would throw a ton of back shoulders. Good chance to complete it or get a penalty, especially on Smith.

Chryst came in at like 28-0.

I'll allow every opposing QB to shite all over Alabama's secondary if the score is 28-0.

Our entire first team defense was still in the game, and I'll guarantee you that they were playing with the mentality that the game was 0-0. That's the standard that is preached to them every day. It's easy to say as fans that they weren't as motivated being up 28, but pitching a shutout or at least giving up as few points as possible is a matter of pride to our defense.

Thompson does have one more PD than Delpit. Massive advantage

I understand. I remember LSU sending all the starters back out a few years ago against Auburn late to try to prevent a TD in a rout, but at some point you go from Playing to Win transitioning to Playing not to Lose / Kill the Clock. I was just asking if that was the case

It's going to boil down to protecting Burrow. That's it.

With the Tide offense being so potent this year we haven't heard much about the defense. What do you think your weak points are in the secondary, and are you at all worried about Burrow being able to take advantage of those weaknesses?

Worried about the #104 ranked Passing Efficiency QB? No.

They're human.

They didn't have the focus they'd have up 3 with 5 minutes left in a game.

They're also prone to giving up chunk plays. So a team attacking them is going to produce some nice plays.

I believe a little of both. I really believe the concentration level goes down when a player feels like the game is in hand. It's human nature.

Chryst was 5-7-119-2-0 in the second quarter. He played well and did serious damage. The completions were for 26, 10, 23, 40, and 20. They weren't check downs to the RBs. He hurt us throwing the ball down the field. Realistically, it was never going to happen, but he got them back to 35-14, and if they stop Alabama on the next series, then get the ball back and score before halftime, then do something receiving the second half kickoff, they could have been back in the game, theoretically. But Tua threw 6 straight completions, we went back up 42-14, then the Vols herp-derped the 2nd half kickoff...suddenly it's 51-14.

So he was playing with an inspired team for a few series.

Well 2/3 defenses were better than yours.

And you gave up 6 TDS last month.

Y'all too will start throwing the ball like crazy when you're down 35-0.

And even though he has a nice passer rating looks nice, you won't be happy with Joe's performance.

Then Miss State will talk about how Joe passed all over Alabama.

Then Alabama will destroy them too.

I love football season
