Serious football question, serious answers desired: Why is 2022 Texas A&M so bad?

I haven’t watched them too much. Just here and there. But, how are they 3-7? What happened? This is wheels falling off territory. I know there will be trolls and jokes, but I’d love some serious input from A&M fans and others who can look at this objectively. What happened?

They can’t score.
The offense is the issue

Horrible offense and bad culture. I also wonder about all those weird coaching changes right before the season.

QB’s aren’t Division 1 QB’s and Jimbo is a fricking douche. Glad the team ran the train on his wife. At least she was satisfied.

Culture is terrible and the offense is pathetic.

I don’t understand it either tbh. I definitely understand their offense is bad. But Les Miles feasted on 9-11 wins for years with pretty horrible offenses.

This must be what it was like watching the last days of Les. Losing to an equally bad team with an interim coach? Yikes

From my view:
LBs are not very good and defensive scheme doesn’t do anything to create big plays. It is a crappier version of a bend don’t break.
Jimbo’s scheme asks a lot of the QB, and works well if the QB can handle it, but doesn’t adjust if the QB can’t make the play or isn’t comfortable making the play
OL has just had piss poor technique. Over the years, the the thing the worst SEC teams have in common is having a bad O line. It is the lynchpin for playing well in the SEC.
A snow ball of players not buying in

Jimbo said last week it was because of bad luck.

I’ve watched many of their games. And you can see the talent.
Evan Stewart and Muhsin Muhammad are GREAT receivers. Weigman has shown promise. Achane is fast as frick. The O-line is young but not nearly as bad as people say. But the offense is still anemic.
The defense is pretty good, too.
Not knowing much, it seems to me there’s a complete lack of leadership internally, starting with Jimbo. The guy isn’t a leader.
And his play calling does his talented team no favors. No creativity, no imagination. It requires perfect blocking, perfect route running, perfect throws to be successful, or enough talent to overwhelm the opponent.
It’s a shame. As much as some of the A&M posters on here make you want to hate them, I know some great Aggies, and I feel bad for them.

Bad luck, execution a few plays go out way, have to be better at coaching, blah blah blah blah blah.
Snake oil salesman.

Our biggest problem is to win football games you generally have to score more point than the other team…. We don’t do that. Fisher’s offense hasn’t put up 30 or more points on a FBS team since South Carolina last year.
So why are we not putting up points? A bad offensive line is the biggest problem. Jimbo’s scheme the probably the next biggest. Finally we have played 3 different QBs this year and have no consistency at that spot.
Defense gives up a lot of yards (especially on the ground) and even in low scoring contests usually has a bad stretch or two where they give up enough points the offense can’t overcome.

Need a play caller and a starting qb.

Sloppy at the top, sloppy on the field.

Nothing happened. This is aggie. They are the Wile E. Coyote of college football and have been for 80+ years. This is all normal.

My guess is culture.
When they brought in The Best Recruiting Class Ever*, they had to promise a lot to some of these young "superstars".
Jimbo didn't have the culture in place that, say, Saban does at Alabama, where he could handle all those egos. They thought they'd roll in and take over.
This probably pissed off some upperclassmen who felt they'd paid their dues, and now some punk thinks he's coming to take his spot without earning it.
Without strong leadership at the top, I think this led to a fractured locker room, with neither side particularly respecting the guy in charge. Team never gelled, never bought in, and after the Ole Miss loss it looks like they've quit. Nobody's listening to Jimbo, and everyone wants out.
