Occasionally I get weak and order chicken and dumplings at Cracker Barrel. It is so fricking bad compared to good chicken and dumplings.
But yeah, it is something that absolutely cannot be rushed. Needs to be made with homemade chicken stock, not any box stuff and definitely not any Sysco stuff.

My soon to be ex-wife tried to use frozen store bought dumplings once. I think that's where things went wrong for us.
