Sorry, but Kennedy gave you him.

Conference championship games are retardedly pointless now. Winning the SEC used to mean you were guaranteed a spot in the natty.
It was the original play in game.

Most Georgia fans are closer to Atlanta than Athens. It's like a game in their front yard.

Mail in votes and Philadelphia gave us Biden.

Both teams were guaranteed to make the playoffs. If I was a UGA fan I'm saving my money for a home playoff game or the Sugar Bowl.

It is also the city with the largest Sec alumni fan base's .... Houston is worse, San Antonio is the live child of mickey mouse raping Memphis, and Dallas is one big suburb.

I didn’t see many empty seats at all

They viewed it as an exhibition game.

According to McConaughey Texas wasn't alloted as many tickets as UGA
I find this really hard to believe.

It's sad, but no one cares of the SECCG anymore. It's all about the playoffs. The SEC has no one but themselves to blame for it.

quote:yeah, that is BS...UGA had more time to gooble up tickets on the open market, but team allotments were the same. Texas section wasn't full at the top rows...I know most of the flights out of Austin/Houston were either sold out or way too expensive.
I find this really hard to believe.

Game has been "sold out" for 30+ years. I suspect the waiting list, if there is one, for future games is several years out.
After season ticket holders for the SECCG are claimed or released, the SEC ticket office holds a lottery that resets every year.

I truly believe a lot of fans are just fatigued by all the changes, most of which the fans do not like. I can not tell you the last Alabama/Tennessee game I didn’t watch. I am not talking about attending, I mean just watching on TV. I didn’t watch any of it this year and just caught the second half last season. And I didn’t have anything else I really had to do. I just decided I would rather work at the deer lease. I didn’t watch the Oklahoma game, Mercer game or most of the South Carolina game this year. Maybe it is just that my priorities have changed, but I work with a lot of people who are fans of different teams who seem to feel the same.
I still love talking shite on here as much as ever. But I don’t care as much about watching. My lagging interest began in the last few years. It is weird that my feelings towards college football seem to be approaching my feelings about NFL football. I will watch if nothing else is going on, but I won’t schedule around it either.

Someone gets it right..,
We have all said this is imminent. It will settle in slowly. There’s nothing college about college football anymore. Even playing at the Benz (or JerryWorld) is a turn-off. One mascot not allowed to be there. All to be followed by an overkill playoff scenario.
He’s right. People are fatigued. Christmas is coming. Drop thousands on semi-pro football or buy some gifts and have a good Christmas with the family?
Fatigue.

Nashville has 38,000 hotel rooms, enough to host a super bowl.... It a city built on hospitality..

40% of the crowd is great when you only received 25%of the tickets and uga get the majority of the corp tickets
