nice edit. Was not the first bit of thinly veiled racism in this thread.

Haha. Oxford just elected 7 democratic alderman and a democrat for mayor.
Are you serious?
Nobody runs on the republican ticket in small MS towns for local elections.
Where are you from?

These days it is. Its pretty much just a suburb of BR.
Yep. Most people living in Livingston and Ascension end up working in BR anyways. While I wouldn't consider Donaldsonville or Sorrento part of BR Metro, Gonzales, Prarieville, and Denham Springs definitely are.

It comes with being a top engineering school.
Also, College Station's voting tendencies are (unsurprisingly) really imbalanced.

Southaven.
Nobody used to run on the republican ticket. Things have changed. The two republicans were incumbents, btw.
I know my North Mississippi politics.

You can't even tell when you pass from one into the other, except Bryan fricking sucks. I was born and raised there
MUCH cheaper to live in Bryan. University BLVD is literally the dividing line between the two cities.

Think of it as a smaller, far more redneck version of Minneappolis-St. Paul.
You have to consider Bryan/College Station one city for the purposes of your thread.

Wow. Bigger than I thought.
Meh. I've lived in NWA before. And I'm back again. It encompasses a pretty large area. Over three counties. The largest of any city is Fayetteville itself. But it also includes Bentonville and Rogers. But the thing is, it is probably more accurate to say that Bentonville is the "metro area".

A couple things people have to keep in mind is that Bryan and College Station are not separated by any physical boundary. If you didn't know the town, you wouldn't be able to tell if you were in Bryan vs CS other than signs.
That means the population is probably closer to 200K+ and the demographics are a bit different.
Tuscaloosa has a ceiling on how much it can grow. With the Birmingham-Hoover Metro of 1.5 million just 45 minutes away, Tuscaloosa will always be more of a large college town. I like it that way.

I like it better than Katy, Texas. But I probably enjoyed living in Baton Rouge more than any place since I left Alabama after graduating.
