Surprised with the income figures for college station. Maybe it's all the farmers in the area???

No it's because Bryan/College Station are twin cities, and everyone is moving to C-Stat to get the hell out of Bryan. You can't even tell when you pass from one into the other, except Bryan fricking sucks. I was born and raised there.

Offseason. Just interesting information about the cities that house the teams.

Worth noting that Starkville has somehow gotten poorer since 2000.

A couple things people have to keep in mind is that Bryan and College Station are not separated by any physical boundary. If you didn't know the town, you wouldn't be able to tell if you were in Bryan vs CS other than signs.

That means the population is probably closer to 200K+ and the demographics are a bit different.

City population does not tell the whole story as to how big the areas are. Here are the Metro area populations for SEC West Cities; ranked by size:

Baton Rouge: 815,298
Fayettville: 482,200
College Station: 234,501
Tuscaloosa: 233,389
Auburn: 147,257
Starkville: 41,633
Oxford: 40,865

To get a better idea on these cities, look at metro population

Gonzales isn't Baton Rouge.

I almost didn't include Baton Rouge because it's completely different than the other cities with its size.

Baton Rouge isn't a college town. It's a city with a college in it.

LSU is Baton Rouge.

BTW, here are the metro stats for Baton rouge. Pretty different than just the city makeup.

The racial makeup of the MSA was 63.03% White, 34.13% African American, 0.23% Native American, 1.31% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.46% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.64% of the population.
The median income for a household in the MSA was $34,827, and the median income for a family was $41,176. Males had a median income of $35,081 versus $21,466 for females.

So either a lot of the Klan doesn't vote or some are secret Obama supporters.
