Losing to usm in Hattiesburg is exactly the standard of LSU baseball?

Of course it’s not. But it’s crazy to say that that happening in a guys first year when he inherited zero pitching depth is a red flag.

This was not the case. Pitching was the problem.

Fielding was absolutely an issue last season.

ETA- Yall wanted to fire Bianco with less than a month to go last year

yep. He had championship caliber talent and we were staring at missing out on the post-season altogether. It's more than understandable for the results during that season and the fact he's only been 1 other time in the last 20+ years for fans to feel like the time is right to move on.

Wrong... Heard it out of KC mouth he was not firing him.

That doesn't mean diddly-dick.

A: Obviously KC isn't going to run his mouth that he's going to fire a coach.

B: You don't have to "fire" him. You "decide to move on".

This one needs redone. A new name that wasn't really known, and that occupies the shitty toilet that is Coleman Coliseum has been all of a sudden out-recruiting Bruce Pearl pre and post-NIL. I think they can invest in more than one sport.

Love it! We didn't fire you, we moved on!

That is exactly what KC told Matt Luke.

LSU was good, under achieving to what LSU expects and what preseason polls said.
Looking at the stats LSU was good in a lot areas just did not transfer to wins.
Off state
3rd BA
2nd Slugging,
2nd on base
2nd runs scored

Red flags 2nd in sac bunts, 8th sac flies who bunts now a days?

Pitching middle of the pack

Let me ask LSU fans this, what is expected this year and if you do get there, is it underachieving?

We're preseason ranked #1. Anything less than a trip to Omaha would be a disappointment.

Pitching was middle of the pack looking at the stats, defense was dead last.

Hopefully the portal king of baseball fixed that this year

Ranking is not wrong. The reasoning is just way off.

2022 LSU was a top 8 team so anything less than Omaha is not achieving that, right? LSU got bounced in Hattiesburg regional.
So yes underachieved

A vocal minority wanted him gone, which was dumb. Been on the Bianco wagon for 20+ years. Really glad lsu went another direction ha ha.

A lot of crow was digested by some of the fan base.

Some of my good friends have wanted him gone for years, when I brought it up in Omaha they acted like they loved him.

Man did the Rebels take over Omaha like no other fanbase has

Most of the fan base was back on board when we got to Supers. Those of us who watched the regionals could see we were playing "different".

I'm not that interested in arguing the point, but Johnson was in his first season. Omaha was not necessarily an expectation last year. It takes a new staff time, especially one that is not accustomed to the SEC.
