He just needs to work counts and focus on quality at bats instead on trying to get a base hit on the first pitch.

It’s not that they’re trash per se, but Caracci is the only truly reliable guy we have in our pen currently, and, even then, he just made Not Top Ten (in a game he won). Etheridge and Holston sucked something fierce in their last appearances, but Etheridge is usually good for one solid appearance a weekend, even though Bianco will usually give him two. Cioffi was great yesterday, but that’s often not been the case. Stokes absolutely cannot be used without at least a 6 run lead, and even then Bianco should use him at his own risk. Woolfork stepped away from the team because he’d simply lost it and needed to go away to get his shite right I guess.
Roth and Fowler had been our midweek guys. In the postseason, Roth looks to be a hit or miss reliever while today has probably earned Fowler the chance to be our fourth starter on the road to Omaha. No one really had a clue Fowler would be able to get out of the 1st, much less pitch this gem. We’ve got younger guys or sparingly used guys, like Miller last night, who could be good, but the postseason isn’t exactly when I’d like to find out how good our seldom used guys are, barring emergencies. Caracci is far and away the best reliever on the team, and I at most 80% trust the best of the rest to bridge from our starter to Caracci. Our unreliable pen is the most likely reason we get knocked out, whenever that happens
