Kentucky - 19
Alabama - 6
Florida - 4
Mississippi State - 3
Auburn - 2
Georgia 2
Ole Miss - 1
Vanderbilt - 1
Tennessee - 1
Arkansas - 1

LSU, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Missouri - 0

Obviously Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Missouri joined the conference more recently.

Kentucky stands alone, but Alabama making some noise

Gee, I can't imagine why you drew the line at 40 years.

Now do Final Four appearances in the last 40 years.

0 for LSU? That can’t be right…they care about sports other than football.

Alabama has more than 6. I think it’s at least 7 tourney titles. 1982, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 2021, and 2023.

Alabama is also 2nd to Kentucky in combined regular season/tournament titles with 17.

Only to UK is Bama basketball. Yea, yea, Billy Donovan but that was the only time they were any good. Arkie had a spurt with Nolan. Other that that in the SEC they have been just ok. LSU got to couple final fours with one of the best coaches ever in Dale Brown that they refuse to acknowledge and Aubie has now been replaced in the state by Bama. MSU had it rolling with Stansbury but decided winning 22 games a year wasn't good enough. Vandy has run off every good coach it had, Ole miss is Ole miss and Mizzou hasn't been nearly the force they were pre SEC days. UT will have its moments but the Don Devoe and Pearl days are behind them.

Alabama has had Billy Dee (Rocket 8 team of 1955-1956), C.M. Newton in the 1970s, Wimp Sanderson in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, and now Nate Oats.

When the tournament started in it's modern form back in 1979 seven (out of 10) different teams won the first seven tournaments. It wasn't until Kentucky won it in 1986 in Rupp that we got our first repeat champion.

Those tournaments between 1982-1992 had great teams, players and games. That was always an event. When Kentucky started dominating it lost a lot of the magic.

You do realize winning the SEC tournament is an actual championship right? Making the final 4 and claiming it as an achievement is worse than Alabama claiming the 1941 national title

Is this a serious post?

You’re saying claiming Final 4 as an achievement is worse than claiming a national title 40 years after a season that you finished ranked 20th in?

Is the correct thing to do and NCAA tournament progress is how programs are measured. Conference tourney championships are laughable "achievements" that are clutched by programs that lack success in the only tournament that matters.

Congrats on your tourney and season titles. They will mean jack shite if another team in the conference goes to a FF this year.

Most non-Bama fans do rate making the Final Four as a significant achievement.

I will bookmark your post so that if/when Bama ever makes the Final Four all of us can remind you that it doesn't even rate as an achievement (your words, not mine) if you don't win the tournament.
