I know it, played an SEC juggernaut and paid the price. At least the next year w/ Bama was closer. Baby steps

That was a makeup game for when you cucks backed out of the 2009 game and scheduled our little brother instead.

2022 - 8-5
2023- 12-2
Next question?

Almost tempted to give them a pass. They aren't used to being good, but they're a playoff contender now. It's time to step up and be a real football school.

OU
No excuse for one of the most storied programs in the history of the game not to schedule better. Admittedly, most of us have fallen into this trap at some point in the past trying to capitalize on the revenue from the additional home game, but the days of a major school needing, or even wanting, to do that are in the past.

Your assignment was re-evaluated, and the professor has changed your grade. You now have an A.

EDIT: Arky now with an A (I am being told that a strong Big 12 team should be considered a tough opponent)
Oklahoma State is 9-5 against Texas since 2009 (including being 6-1 in Austin).

If Mizzou doesn’t belong in the SEC then isn’t every SEC game OOC?
Posted on 8/30/24 at 9:04 am to Evolved Simian
Our OOC schedule took a beating because of the move to the SEC. Georgia was scheduled OOC, but had to be cancelled of course. It is what it is - our conference schedule more than makes up for it! I love that an Alabama fan tries to say something - Nick Saban was the king of shite OOC schedules. OU generally played one creampuff, one mid major, and then a helmet school. Made scheduling pretty decent over the years.

“Because the second non-conference game in each of the Georgia-Oklahoma and Tennessee-Oklahoma series is scheduled to take place after Oklahoma joins the SEC in 2025, the Conference is directing the postponement of the Georgia at Oklahoma game in 2023 and the Oklahoma at Tennessee game in 2024 until such time that those matchups become part of the Conference rotation of games in future years.”

You guys should just tell horn to frick off trying to act like they are the authority to judge team’s schedules like we are. Like any one gives a damn if they like who we play.

To be fair, OU's OOC before realignment was as good as it gets.
Georgia
Michigan
Alabama
LSU
Clemson
Every previous NC since 2015. They keep Clemson and Michigan. I don't know how feasible it was to find a good replacement for Georgia this season.

I don't believe the second game w/ UGA was scheduled for this year. Yes, the 2023 game was lost last year.

You dummy can't read. Tenn was scheduled this year for our OOC game and was canx. Teams schedule years in advance so it left us scrambling to fond a replacement. We do play Tenn in conf but had to find another OOC game. And those are hard to find on short notice.

Aggie, LSU, Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida and South Carolina. That's it, that's the list. You guys get an A.
With GT beating FSU, the argument could be made that UGA has two tough non-conference games.
So I'd say UGA gets an A+. Since the NCAA went to 12 regular season games, UGA has had the best non-conference scheduling in the SEC and continues to do so.

Hey, we have an away game to Power 4 member, Wake Forest. 2 years ago, they were the Gasparilla Bowl champions.

That's ridiculous.
He was there for 17 seasons. His P5 OOC games:
FSU 3X
Penn State 2X
Michigan
Clemson
USC
Miami
Wisconsin
Virginia Tech 2X
West Virginia
Texas 2X
Louisville
Duke 2X These were kind of meh, even though Petrino was at Louisville at the time.
In addition, when he left, we already had series scheduled against:
Ohio State
West Virginia
Wisconsin
Florida State
Oklahoma State
Notre Dame
Boston College
Virginia Tech
Minnesota
Arizona
Georgia Tech
That's 22 (Now P4) opponents over the next 10 seasons

Texas leaves the state of Texas three times this season to play football.
Texas left the state of Texas twice last season to play football. Go frick yourself.
