So your two junior tackles are going to pass on being the 1st and 6th pick overall in the draft? Right.

Flagship part deaux.

LINK

ETA I see you will likely also lose a starting DE that is a junior.

Matthews is the son of Bruce Matthews. His younger brother (who most people think is the best of Bruce's sons) is going to start at center next year. The family doesn't need the money, and there is good reason to think that Jake wants to finish his degree (he is a true Junior) and play with his younger brother.

Luke is more likely to go, but it is NOT a lock.

(For what it is worth, all three of those guys are true juniors and have given indication that they want to finish school. Von, who Moore really looks up to, stayed for his senior year even though he was a projected first round pick, and it made him millions in guaranteed money in his first NFL contract).

If some of Florida's offensive recruits pan out at WR and RB, they will be appreciably better on offense next year.

Especially with the additions of Gracia and Moore on the OL. UF is only losing two players on the OL, and Harrison, Halapio, and Green should anchor one of the better OL's in the whole country, especially with all of the depth behind them.

On defense, it really depends on how many people leave. 3 starters graduate in Hunter, Evans, and Bostic, all 3 of which will be missed. Jenkins, Easley, Floyd, and Elam could all potentially go pro, but It'll probably just be Floyd and Elam.

In that case, Florida would have to replace their MLB, both safeties, and both DT's, which is never a good sign for a defense. The returning depth is quite good, both at LB and in the secondary, and getting Ronal Powell back will help with the pass rush. In addition, the defensive recruiting has been strong, so I don't forsee a big drop off, but clearly UF won't be as strong as they were this year.

I expect the starters to look like this, pending surprises in the spring, transfers, injuries, etc...

DE - Bullard, Fowler
DT - Easley, Williams/Brantley/Cummings
NT - Orr, Jacobs
Buck - Powell, Johnson/Mccalister/Cox Jr.

WLB - Jenkins, Ajagbe
MLB - Morrison, Taylor
SLB - Ball, Kitchens

CB - Roberson, Riggs
CB - Watkins, Hargraves
NB - Purifoy, Saunders
S - Gorman, Poole
S - Showers, Harris/Ledbetter

So the defense will still be very athletic and talented, but young in the back end. Gorman would be the oldest currently listed as saftey as a junior. Wouldn't be surprised if Riggs or Saunders were back there either.

The LB corp will once again be one of the best in the league, and the DL will be disruptive.

Just some thoughts.

Vandy will for sure be worse. With Stacy and Rodgers graduating, and Matthews declaring for the draft, there is no way they can reproduce this year's results.

Did you really just say losing what are likely the two best tackles in college football won't hurt? Manziel is going to get hit and hit a lot next season. I'd be worried about a running game too. You guys sound just like Arkansas fans.

You probably didn't know who Jake and Luke were prior to this season. Now you're resting your hopes of TAMU's demise on their departure. But you don't know what you're talking about.

Like I told you yesterday, one is leaving.

The interior OL will remain fine. And Ced O at RT will be a smooth transition. You're getting your hopes up but are failing to realize that:

1) what you think will happen won't; and
2) JFF will still remain the single best player in the conference with even more familiarity with the offense.

That and our rather patsy schedule all but locks in 10 wins. In fact, I'd feel more confident A&M wins ten next year than if we were to replay the 2012 season.

Every single player who is projected to be a top 10 pick should go. One guy falling on your leg the wrong way could be the difference between a good career and not playing at all.

Looking at the roster right now, the only seniors with starting experience will be Stinson and Belue.

You don't have to be a senior to be a leader. Rolando McClain was the de facto leader of that defense as a freshman. From what I hear, Trey DePriest has all the makings of a leader and he'll be a junior next year.

Also we get Missouri instead of Georgia.I don't know much about Vandy except they lose a lot on offense but Franklin is a good coach he will have them ready. If Texas still has Mack Brown as their head coach I like our chances.

Give it up. These Aggies are without basic sense and the ability to reason things out. They are very much convinced they are already SEC elite and will remain there for infinity.

I have the feeling we will get to see another Arkansas type meltdown soon.

Just so you know A&M has 3 juniors projected to go top 10 in the draft.

We'll see about that, too. I don't expect you to remind us of this post when you are shown to be wrong.

You might have figured out that I knew that when I typed this:

Ha, yeah it's rather obvious what you're tying to do. But you're too worried about framing A&M's inaugural season as an outlier to stop and reason why that might be the case.

You need to do better than link NFL projections (projections we've mulled over for weeks) for two of our players to convince us or anyone reasonable that the seam is ripping.

Texas A&M is going to be decent as long as they have Manziel running that system.

They'll have to replace 3 WR's, and their center and probably at least one of those tackles.

But they'll still be potent offensively. The question is, can Texas A&M build on their defensive performance this year. If their defense can stay the same, or get better, they're a title contender.

I am not saying they can't do it because they certainly can. I am just saying that they have not been asked to be a leader yet and we don't know how they will take on that role. If DePriest is looking good in that regard, then that is fantastic news.
