65 seems low. Usually, we're in the top 10 on these lists.

For instate students to LSU, unless you are a total idiot, you go to LSU for free (TOPS). I think that's a pretty dang good ROI.

I can understand this. South Carolina doesn't have nearly the amount of Really Obnoxious Inbreds like the rest of you clowns.

Go Cocks.

Funny thing is, as in every aspect of their university, that ole miss thinks theyre a good school...despite all the numbers and stats to the contrary. They're a fricking joke and are too ignorant to realize it. Funny bunch of people those ole miss fans are.

My favorite part is any fan of a school not named Vanderbilt acting like their University is any less shite than the rest.

This makes absolutely zero sense unless you net it out somehow and then isolate it by degree. Let's just go by a simple hypothetical... If everyone from mississippi state university that graduated went to say California or New York to get a job it would drastically change the ROI just because cost of living is going to drive salaries so much higher, but that doesn't mean shite if you can't pay your bills. Same can be said for pretty much every SEC school except maybe Florida. Georgia Tech is high just like MIT because it is pretty much solely an engineering/tech school if they had an art history program it would drag down the ROI.

I'd take anything put out by payscale with a grain of salt. With that said, three of the consensus top 4 schools in the SEC did make the top of the list so they may have backed in to an accurate ranking

Average Starting Salary for a 3rd Mate or 3rd Assistant Engineer is around 6 figures. And that's for 6-8 months a year of work.

After that most of us end up shore side working for Oil Companies or related offshore industry or in Naval Architecture / Ship Building and Design / Nuclear or Conventional Power Plants / Admiralty Law.

At USMMA we were required to give 8 years of Reserve Service as payback for the low tuition and and many of the state schools they can do a similar arrangement with the Government providing tuition assistance in exchange for reserve service.

We're subject matter experts in a very niche industry and Graduates from these schools are typically at the top of most shipping companies or shipping groups within major oil companies and trading houses in the US.

In my mind (and Im biased) its the best set up of any of the Federal Service Academies.
