Cold beer

14. Auburn
13. Ole Miss
12. Mississippi State
11. Texas A&M
10. Tennessee
9. LSU
8. Arkansas
7. Missouri
6. Vanderbilt
5. South Carolina
4. Kentucky
3. Alabama
2. Florida
1. Georgia

Love a good craft beer, living in Denver the South's craft beer scene sucks arse in comparison but it's good to see they're finally catching on.

Not surprising with Terrapin and the rise of Creature Comforts.

6. Vanderbilt

Would have thought Nash would have a better craft scene than this.

simply doesnt have any breweries, partially because population and past state laws.

However, how many other schools offer degrees in brewing science?

I'm surprised Auburn even has a craft brewery in the area.

I didn't realize KY an AL had a strong craft beer presence. Nashville has a ton and it's growing every day. Yazoo doesn't make a bad beer IMO.

Is this by specific town or state? MS is really just getting into the craft beer scene, but lazy magnolias timberbeast is a fantastic ipa. Can't stand any of their other stuff though. I'm hoping things continue to grow on the beer scene in MS

I'm surprised Arkansas is so low, I'd have figured Fayetteville would have a bunch of breweries.

College Station may be behind the curve, but we have a few new breweries on the rise. Five years ago I don't think we had any craft beer made in cstat. Just like our football team, we've recently made strides to get noticed are only a few years away from the top! Only difference is we may actually make it there with the craft beer race.

Birmingham is pretty strong and Huntsville has a couple that are good.

ETA: Mobile/Fairhope is pretty good too

11. Texas A&M – Much like the Aggies’ relationship to the Longhorns, in spite of recent success, College Station is the little brother to Austin in the beer scene. Jester King and (512) Brewing Company are nationally known out of Austin, whereas Blackwater Draw and New Republic are just now starting to make headway. The Warimono from New Republic is a glorious Belgian Tripel. It has fruity and sweet notes with hints of spicy yeast. It has a 9.0 ABV (alcohol by volume) but drinks like a session beer.

Oh really. A major city of 2 million people has better craft beer than a city of 200k with about a third of them being students & faculty. Breaking news!

Good friend of mine got a brewing science degree from Auburn. He currently is a brew master for a craft brewery in Atlanta.

Surprised Baton Rouge's Tin Roof is ranked so high, haha. The other stuff below us must be pretty bad.

Band of Brothers I'm T-Town is what's up. They always have some good chill live music.

Druid City will always be my favorite though. Bo Hicks is too cool of a owner.

Must have just graduated. One of my friends still in AU is an instructor for the program. one of his classes is "Alcohol Appreciation", they meet and try different varieties of booze, beer, or wine and learn about how its made and flavorized. They have tastings once a week
