When was the last time CBS didn't have UT/UF as its opener?

Trick question...2001. 9/11 forced the game to be moved to the end of the year.

ahh... I see. espn filling the 2:30 slot. that might have been the "extra" pick ESPN got for giving up that day to have a doubleheader on CBS for LSU/Alabama

Alright, I'll rephrase the question.

When was the last time CBS didn't have UT/UF as its opener not counting 9/11, Pearl Harbor, the Boston Massacre, Hiroshima/Nagasaki, and the time Bill Buckner let a ball roll thru his legs?

It's SEC media days this week, SEC tv schedules are being released, I'm getting pumped, "We need a count down clock on the home page".

11at MSU?? frick. I may actually give them a shot at winning now. Auburn teams will always and forever suck at 11:00 games.

Ole Miss has a better shot than people think. Texas will have an excellent D but their QB situation will be a mess like it has been the past 2 seasons. I expect a few INTs and anything can happen.

I always feel like the road team benefits from an early start because they don't have to sit in the hotel thinking about the game all day. Plus the home fans don't get as krunk.

2:30 in September is usually pretty pleasant in NW Arkansas. Could be hot, but could also be nice.

I love how Arkansas/Alabama is a CBS 2:30 staple, too.

More often than not, that is the CBS game that week.

Isn't that a fairly new thing? Like VolFan said, has UT/FL been in that spot forever?

The Arkansas/Alabama game has been CBS 2:30 more times in the last 10 years than not.

Not sure if the schedule changed where those games aren't competing with each other.

ETA: Just a quick Google shows that Ark/Bama has been the CBS game at least 4 years in a row now, at least since 2009. Maybe more.

Generally I agree, but not with AU. We NEVER play well at 11

Night games in Tiger Stadium.

Outside of that, I expected Florida at A&M to be a night game.

2:30 September game in College Station

There will be no less than 300 medic calls for heat exhaustion.

Well, good deal then.

" With the loss of head coach Billy Paterno, Arkansas comes into this game at a disadvantage. Neal Staten and his vaunted D will be looking for a win this lovely afternoon in Northwest Arkansas. Arkansas versus Bama is up next."
