They contradicted themselves again. It’s not about professional athletes.

Maybe, but you’d think the SEC official statement would have been much stronger if they were.

At the end of the day this is going to come down to schools not having their admissions held hostage by the whims of some judge on a case by case basis. This is a precedent that they will fight all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary to keep from standing. It's about the entire academic institution, not just the athletic department.

Well that’s all fine and dandy, but neither the SEC’s moronic commissioner nor its crooked attorney could adequately define what a professional athlete is today in court.

SEC is a fricking clown show.

So why now? Why has the SEC let other schools get away with the same thing before drawing this line?

I couldn't tell ya. But it's irrelevant because that's where we are now.

The pearl clutching over LSU and not giving two shits about all the other universities doing the same thing because they didn’t cross some arbitrary line between mini camps and training camps is telling. You are either willfully ignorant or dishonest. Which is it? You are either for letting all these players play or none of them. Standing on your high horse somewhere in the middle is insanely idiotic, and that’s what the SEC, you, and several other dumbass members of the SEC are doing.

It’s the opposite. That’s why we are here now.

The SEC can't define professional because if they did accurately, ALL scholarship/NIL college football players would be professional and the SEC would have no argument.

From dictionary.com

Paid Occupation vs. Hobby

As an adjective: Doing an activity for money rather than as a pastime (e.g., a professional athlete or professional photographer).

As a noun: Someone who is paid to participate in a sport or activity that others often do for fun.

It’s not irrelevant at all. Cherry picking when rules should be enforced is a major red flag in any court room and they would get crushed bringing that shite anywhere.

It wouldn’t bother me at all being booted from the SEC. Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites with a dumbass commissioner that doesn’t even know anything about the 5’for 5 rule. He’s pathetic!

As I was saying in another thread, this was coming one way or the other. Lane Kiffin is just the one who is dumb enough to take it on the chin. He set himself up for this by encouraging the players to take it to court. Once it went there it's going to go all the way until the universities reestablish agency over their own institutions. Period, end of story. Lane Kiffin is stupid.

But it’s very relevant. If LSU can show the SEC selectively enforces rules, there could be defamation suits filled by LSU for singling them out.

Maybe Sankey’s dumbass should have read the rule book and workshopped the answer to the most obvious fricking question he was going to be asked if they had any hope of winning.

I’m fascinated by your continued posting even though you already know how this ends. LSU is kicked out of the SEC and faces financial ruin.

I’m not sure why trying to convince LSU fans otherwise is a valued use of your time.

"Former professional athletes" - This is comical as the precedent has already been set and approved within the conference. Why is it different now.

That would be even more glorious. They stay, with no money to fill their roster and we all take turns kicking the shite out of them.

the more LSU fights against it

LSU isn’t fighting anything, the tigers are playing by the rules. The conference is fighting LSU and is losing.
